First off, don't get a mac unless you want to have some kind of a multi boot stuff.

16GB over 8GB is very nice, since if you're browsing with a lot of tabs + have a few photoshop windows open + something else, you're gonna use a lot of memory and you DON'T want to run out of it (especially if you have an SSD, since it lowers it lifespan).

Having an SSD is really nice, loading stuff like windows in seconds instead of minutes matters a lot. However you have less storage space with it (unless you pay big bucks) so you might have to use an external drive or something for your stuff (unless you can cram in 2 HDD's in there).

The most important thing is having a good screen, and both of those you linked have it.

Oh and Lenovo and ASUS are great brands both.

My new Asus is pretty similar to the one you bought. Its awesome. My last Asus gave me like 7 years so I love that brand.
