Vernon, for somebody who wouldn't vote for me in a game due to me not wanting to read spoilers, it's funny that you're getting your panties in a twist over spoilers that were clearly marked and tagged (:
I haven't read anything in any marked spoiler tag that was clearly about something later than I've viewed because I'm not an idiot and I actually read stuff.
This will be the last post I make in this thread though. Don't worry.

I avoid all talks online of the show like the plague. Part of me reading now is so I can stop fretting about it because I know it won't last. I only know up to where the show is at but I'll likely overtake it in a week or so.

I plan on reading the books once each season ends. I already read the first one. I've stayed relatively spoiler-free so far, though, so I'm not overly concerned about that as long as I stay CAREFUL. I feel like seeing the surprises unfold onscreen is more rewarding than reading them on a page |
I'm on the fence. There are so many characters and underlying plots that often they don't get time to breathe on the show. It makes certain reveals a lot less impacting.
For example: Did anybody give a crap when the guy revealed himself as Beric Dondarrion last episode? He's mentioned a lot in the books so if you know that, it does make the scene more impactful whereas in the show he's more of a lolwho.
But when it comes to a scene like say, the scene at the end of the last episode, I would rather get that firsthand on the show because the execution was amazing.
So I'm torn really. I want to read before I watch a little bit just to see if reading it first disappoints me when I go to watch the show. There have been a few moments I've read about and seen happen on screen and it's really been more of a :D I'm glad they got to that than a :( I wish I'd seen it happen before I read it.
So I dunno. I'll see how it goes.
