Started out weak but hopefully redeemed myself by the end. Pretty crazy game, but I enjoyed it a lot.
I don't think the random deck shuffling massively affected the balance to be honest. With multiple factions, it all sort of evened out a bit.

Can everybody check into the new mafia queue thread:
http://www.ndimforums.com/fe/thread.asp?threadid=3784&pp=15#new
I need all hosts to confirm the status of their games in the queue and whether or not they're ready to go with it.

The back and forth is what wins stuff on the town side and is rarely harmful to scum tbh, since information can be gleaned on decent targets and so on. It's really a necessary part of what makes a good mafia game.
People shouldn't be afraid of saying something stupid and getting caught up in suspicion if they're town. It's important for suspicion to build and players to be investigated. If somebody is wrongfully lynched on the town-side, information is still taken from it moreso if the player was vocal.
