*Crowd cheers*
It's match number 8, the final bout of the first round!
In the blue corner we have:
Happy go lucky shoe seeking prior veteran in labyrinth and also pastor. He's a drummer with a feisty attitude. Rumour has it he plans to throw the match but will he give it his all? It's Bryce!
And in the red corner:
Recently dominated a labyrinth as spirit body hopping Dr. Patterson. Has played in a fair few of the other rounds just for the challenge, will she be able to rise to it today? Longtime FE regular, it's Rose/drrrrr!
Wasting no time here. Today we will be playing:
Obey the Game
http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/obey-the-game
Summary: Complete the small objective on a number of quick fire stages, unless the screen flashes up with DISOBEY in which case you have to avoid whatever instruction is presented. Keep surviving as rounds come through faster and faster.
Controls: Arrows to move and up to jump.
Win Condition: Take a screenshot of your "levels completed" at the end. The player with the most wins.
NOTE: Game should be played on normal mode. I can't verify this but please keep to it.
The round will end when both players have submitted a screenshot of their score in private.
The time is now 2:42 EST, you have 24 hours.
Let the battle begin! | |

I think I will learn to love this one in time. My "best" for now:
The longer it went the more impatient on waiting for the DISOBEY to pop up I got. Looking forward to trying it again when I'm more focused. I love the little blue elephant almost as much as the tail dancing dolphin. |
If you like the little blue elephant you're in for a treat. It's somewhat of a recurring "character".
The developer of the game is a guy with the handle jmtb02 and the elephant is something of a motif that he uses in the vast majority of his games. All of them are highly playable, addictive and entertaining in their own unique ways.
Elephant Rave: http://www.kongregate.com/games/jmtb02/elephant-rave
Which is a fun little survival game that hurts the eyes.
This is the Only Level: http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/this-is-the-only-level
This is the Only Level Too: http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/this-is-the-only-level-too
This is the Only Level 3: http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/this-is-the-only-level-3
A popular series that spans three titles now. The basic gist of this is to complete the game as fast as possible. Despite there only being one stage layout with a jumping elephant (the goal to get to the exit), every time you move through the exit you are required to do so in a different "unique" way (such as dragging with the mouse) the only clue to which is given in the title of the stage.
Achievement Unlocked: http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/achievement-unlocked/
Achievement Unlocked 2: http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/achievement-unlocked-2
Achievement Unlocked 3: http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/achievement-unlocked-3
Again, another vastly popular series. A parody on the obsessive need to complete achievements in games, the objective of each of these is to obtain every single achievement. Some are ridiculous things such as "start game, press left key, press right key" and some are far more obscure and require the use of a guide.
And finally, by far the best of the bunch:
Elephant Quest: http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/elephant-quest
This is actually a fairly sizeable and lengthy, full on Metroidvania style side-scrolling adventure game featuring a level system with a skills tree and a killer soundtrack. It uses save states to record your progress so you can come back and play whenever you have a moment. It's actually a very enjoyable lengthy game experience in its own right and probably one of the greatest flash games ever created.
The little blue elephant has become a bit of a cult figure in flash gaming circles to the degree that merely stamping a game with jmtb02 and a blue elephant makes it a must play without even diving into the description of the game itself. It's almost a disappointment when jmtb02 releases a game that doesn't contain the elephant.

Not that I'm aware of. He presumably deserves one but I think it's just "elephant".

WHY COULDN'T THIS HAVE BEEN MY GAME  |
:(
This was probably my single favourite of the bunch. I was waiting for it to come up all throughout the matchups but it waited until the end.
Also Bryce and drr FYI because I did screw up your start time you can have an extension on this. I've not been particularly strict with anything so far.
The results for Jeff/Hupu and Wikey/Patrick (clue: Wikey won) are in, just need to get around to updating them.

I'm probably going to need an extention. I dozed off last night when this was posted.
The good news is I have a desktop again! :D |
I'll give you a bit longer but I would like to finish this thing before the middle of the week!

Yeah I haven't been on the boards in like 24+ hours so I just saw this and have work in an hour. |
Alright.
When can you be here to have a go? I'm willing to keep extending it a little bit longer.

Well I'm about to tell you!
Drr scored 95 levels with a streak of 31 levels. Not a bad run all in all.
Bryce won 78 levels with a streak of 42 levels. An impressive streak but the game isn't scored on that.
Consolations to Bryce, as Drr takes the crown in this final matchup!
Thanks to everybody for playing. I'll post Round 2 later.
