All cynicism and joking aside, this is pretty sad. It doesn't really need saying and it will be said by an awful lot of people in the next few months though. It would definitely be a lot sadder in the case of a younger man who hadn't really had the chance to say and do some pretty incredible things.

Honestly, he's been in a bad way for quite a while so, tbh, meh.

And I bet this still gets less media coverage over here than the death of Amy Winehouse did.

I always find it saddest when somebody pretty incredible dies and it goes relatively unnoticed tbh. I'm not sure how it went down in America but Neil Armstrong's death barely raised a footnote in the media here.
