The HitchHiker's Guide is so good. I haven't read the one not written by him based on what he'd done before his death but his books are wonderful. They kind of sloped at the end but the first three are incredible. Enjoy!

Also just downloaded Hitchhiker's set yesterday to read then as well. |
Excellent choice. One of my all time favourites. Fourth and Fifth book lose it a bit but the first three are golden. The universe as painted by Douglas Adams is so wonderful.

I read a short blurb about one of George RR Martin's non-ASOIAF book, "Fevre Dream" and it sounded interesting - has anyone read it by chance? Vampires and riverboats, sounded like an interesting mix. |
Wait what?
I've never heard of this but I swear I had a dream about vampires taking over river boats and all that it entailed a while back. It was very, very strange. Maybe I've heard of the concept somewhere else, but I can't recall it until now.
Except for in my dream-verse, that is. Have you mentioned it waywardly anywhere else?

In my dream-verse it was English canal boats, and not old American river-boats though. I just looked up the book out of curiosity.
This is really, really strange. Because in my dream there was some kind of a link to George R. R. Martin too. I must've heard about this somewhere, I just can't for the life of me figure out where.
