I prefer to not have animals, because I don't want to take care of them.

But wife had an older cat when we got married (She's ok, kind of a princess), and we had a male cat wander up and got adopted (he's pretty independent, looks like a maine coon), and my daughter has a dog (3mo old, black weimaraner mix) she begged for him, and is taking care of him, so he's more of a slobby room mate tbh.
