That Tower of Joy fight scene was a bit weird.
Didnt Ned always say he killed Dayne, why would he do that if it was Howland? (That last swing hardly counts as the killing blow). Also seems kinda unrealistic that the best fighter in the history of Westeros would not be a bit more aware of his surroundings, and allow a injured, probably noisy, guy sneak up behind him and stab him in then neck!
I was kinda hoping for some of those theories to be true. Ill put them in spoiler tags

1. Dayne didnt die, Howland and Ned made a deal with him (Ned says "They came into the room" or something like that when he was with his sister, who are "they" if Howland is just alive?) (Dayne makes the deal because all of his kingsguard friends are dead and he cant kill everyone that arrives at the tower) They then faked his death, took his sword as proof and he lives in exile now.
2. Howland was killed and warged Dayne before he died and is currently using his body. Thats why no one has seen Howland for a long time.
3. Howland and Ned beat Dayne because Howland uses a different fighting style (nets, poison, pitchforks(?)) which Dayne had never fought before, thats how they beat him.
