Im currently reading "The moon is a harsh mistress" by Robert Heinlein which is pretty good. Finding time to read has been hard with all the reading I do at school but im planning on finishing it this summer.

I also got a huge book that contains all the Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy books for birthday which I have briefly started. I love Adams, such a good writer.

FE will be proud to hear that I got my girlfriend to read "And then there where none" and I cant wait until she finishes that!

Bit MEH I think. The main story was uninteresting until at the very end (when he finally caught up with the man in black). Him uninterestingly travelling 95% of the book to get one interesting chapter at the end is really not satisfying. The man in black did bring up some interesting points that might surface into some good plot but who knows! I really hate the narrative. Sometimes its the main character thinking of the past. Sometimes its things happen in current time (is it happing in current time?) and then he mentions things that havnt happened which suggests that the character is telling the story in the future? I am really not sure. It kinda breaks the immersion when he mentions stuff like that On that point, I hate how he spoils future plot points by mentioning how something is going to happen. Like he mentioned that the boy was going to die 3-4 chapters before it actually happened. Whats my motivation for continuing on reading if he is just going to continuously tell me everything interesting that might happen a few chapters ahead. Arg! I also feel like some of his descriptions are really lacking. I feel myself reading the same sentences over and over trying to visualize whats happening but its just missing something. I dont always feel like this throughout the book, but it happened on numerous occasions. I dont know if its just King´s writing to go straight to the point but it is kinda annoying to not be exactly sure what is happening. I sometimes have to read a bit further to get more context and then be like "oh, thats probably what happened". I didnt have this problem when I read Pet Sematary, which I really liked. Ive started with the second book but it isnt really motivating me to keep on reading. Why should I be interested in these 3 people he is looking for? Maybe I just dont care what happens to the Gunslinger? :D Maybe Game of Thrones has just spoiled me with all their interesting characters!

Well the 2nd book is better than the 1st and the 3rd and 4th are really the best books in the series. I thought the first book started off slow but the flashback stuff to when Roland was a kid and training to be a gunslinger was the stuff i really liked about that book. King does usually foreshadow wayyyyy too much and wayyyy too specifically, but that was really the only one I remember sticking out throughout the rest of the series. As a whole, this is one of my favorite book series of all time along with Game of Thrones. It might not be your thing but I know it picks up more and more as the story goes along.

Yeah I agree that the flashbacks where a nice touch. I enjoyed some of them, some seemed to not really add much to the story but maybe they will make sense in the whole context of the story.

Just finished "The Way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson

Really great fantasy book. Lot of small breadcrumbs in different chapters that hint toward the bigger picture and make you think.

Quenches that thirst when you are still waiting for Game of Thrones....

He seems to publish every 3 years or so, with the third book coming this November. So maybe he will finish the series!
