Seeing as how I love everything Daemon and Rhaenyra are doing, I liked this episode.
The only nitpick I have is I wish we got more from the King's perspective on HOW exactly this marriage would benefit the realm in his opinion, knowing the discourse it would sow with the most powerful house in the realm. It's obviously the wrong choice. I guess his thinking is that he'll get a son, dis-heir his daughter, and things will be hunky dory? That's the only thing that really makes sense. He would have to believe his daughter, his brother, and the queen that never was will just roll over and be fine with that come his death. But then he tells Rhaenyra he wants her to remain his heir, which I would have to guess he's lying about, otherwise he comes off even dumber.
That said, characters will character! I can't mind too much someone making questionable choices if it makes for an interesting story. |
