I love Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen. I heard some meh reviews about it, but I'm hella excited still for it. Wandavision was 10/10 for me. |

My enjoyment of this depends entirely on the fate of Wanda. If she's truly gone, this version, I'd think this whole movie a waste. Imo they should've took a bigger risk and had Wanda actually come out victorious. Or have her return in a future film where she's a psuedo Loki type villain that does basically all good. Barring that, have her fly off for a second Wandavision season where her and Vision reunite and try to overcome their grief. Ending her story here disgusts me, frankly. And I don't even feel like they have but they've also done nothing to show they haven't either.
That said, I liked how weird the movie got. And was very surprised they had Wanda killing people left, right, and center.
Having the character named America took me out of the movie every time they said her name.
The Illuminati, too, lol come on. But it was cool seeing her easily best them. Just made them look stupid, though. Mr. Fantastic, the smartest man or whatever just gets torn to shreds... If you ever introduce him to the mcu now, idek.
The x men music when Xavier appeared was amazing. Then he was easily dispatched of, too. Never did I get the sense from this movie that Doctor Strange was a match for Wanda yet he didn't instantly lose to her like everyone else did.
The random slow mo camera and shot choices were also BAD. That scene in the tunnel... But the horror stuff was fun.
I came out of the movie pretty entertained. I don't think it's gonna be a favorite for me, but I won't be annoyed by it depending on Wanda's fate. I could've done with even more character scenes there. I wanted more of an emotional impact. |
