Just finished. Very, very good. Even though that first episode was actually very short as far as segments went, it took me a few hours to get through it due to all the things you could explore and do. All the optional conversations and sub-plots. Very cool! I feel like they made sure that every single character in the game had a purpose for being in it and I love games like that.
Although I kind of agree that rewinding time does ruin the whole panic mode you get in Walking Dead, there is a TON of decisions in this game that it's hard to keep up with or even know what they're going to do. I feel like this game is more about dilemma whether or not you should use your power for every little thing. I feel like going back to change everything to good might be bad. Maybe the storm is actually a consequence of using the power too much? Who knows. It's little things. I'll get into that more in the spoiler.
Despite all the searching around I did, I still missed a TON of stuff. I only took three of the photos you could take and seeing the full decision list, I overlooked a ton of things. Which makes me incredibly excited, actually.
All my decisions. Including the big and minor ones as well:
|
MAJOR DECISIONS
- I reported Nathan. I actually did this at first, got spooked at the principal's reaction and went back and didn't, but ended up going back once more to do it again.
- I comforted Victoria. Not going to stoop down to her level just cause she's a cunt. Figured I'd be the better person by showing compassion. Odd that Boc got a text from her though, I never got that.
- I intervened to help Kate. This is another decision I rewound on. I took a picture at first thinking that I could use it later on, but Kate's reaction to me not helping her kind of made me feel like a jackass so I went back to help her. I kind of regret this. I feel like that picture could be important later.
- I stayed hidden. Once again, I rewound to see both decisions in action. I felt bad but I also don't think taking the blame changes that much since he's going to be a piece of shit no matter what and knows she probably smokes weed cause of his camera system. Didn't see the point in hurting my reputation at school at that expense. I feel like this is going to seriously hurt my relationship with Chloe later but I'm selfish I guess.
MINOR DECISIONS
- I let Daniel draw me. Didn't see the big deal and I'm surprised I'm in such a minority for this.
- I signed Ms. Grant's petition against David's surveillance system. Once again, surprised I'm in the minority for this.
- I helped Alyssa. As funny as the football hitting her was, I figured helping her would open a sub-plot for her down the road.
- I erased the insults on Kate's board.
- I watered my plant.
- I and 97% of people did not touch Dana's pregnancy test. Must have been highly overlooked, I never noticed that (:
- Didn't touch Victoria's pictures. Once again, I must have overlooked this somehow. Though honestly, I kind of rushed out of her room cause I was terrified she was gonna walk in.
- Didn't touch the RV. I kind of went straight to Warren in the parking lot, I didn't even mess with it. Seeing a guy come out of it during the snowstorm cutscene pissed me off cause I think I must have missed a scene there. Oh well.
- I saved the bird's life. I actually really, really regret doing this. I don't know why but I feel like this bird is going to fuck things up horribly.
- I did not break Chloe's snowglobe. I actually missed this scene entirely, once again.
- I read through David's files.
- I did reverse time to put David's evidence back where it was and not on the floor. |

It was in Chloe's parent's room. As soon you go in, a bird flies in and smacks against the window. When you look at it, Max wishes she could have saved it's life and you have the option of quickly going back and opening it. If you do, it'll fly into the room and sit on the closet chirping.
I feel kind of like that's going to be reverse butterfly effect and the bird's going to cause something fucked up to happen. Seems like an odd decision, but maybe that's just what they want you to think. |

Finished. This is getting very good!

Looks like the theory of constant rewinding = very bad is coming true. I vowed to lay off on the rewinding in this episode and only did it once for the major decisions of this episode.... course more than half of the episode relied on you constantly rewinding either for fun or saving Chloe and Kate from a horrible death. So I guess there's no way around those. I also rewound to satisfy all the minor decisions (Helping Warren with his chemistry, talking to Taylor about her mom, gaining access to the party, etc) but whatever. I'm curious if anyone else's storm vision sequences or nose bleeds were more intense than other's based off of how much they rewound last episode. The situation with Kate is definitely foreshadowing though. I feel like there's going to be a scene with Chloe where she can't be saved cause we were too busy dicking around before with the power to the point where I can no longer use it to save her from a falling tree/speeding car/oncoming train/whatever.
I still missed a ton of stuff. I only got two of the photo ops. Missed a couple of conversations based off my minor decisions results.
- Told Kate to wait. After seeing my room vandalized and getting threatening texts, I didn't think Kate could handle the same on top of the heckling she was getting.
- Answered Kate's call. Chloe was being ridiculous about this.
- Tried to shoot Frank. Originally did not, but changed my mind after Chloe's reaction. Felt like I was pissing Chloe off way too much in this episode so I wanted to stand up for her to see what would happen if I fired.
- Saved Kate's life. Can't believe almost half didn't. Jeez.
- Blamed Nathan for Kate's suicide attempt... really a no brainer for me.
Minor decisions:
- Watered my plant
- Did not help Alyssa... I must have missed this because I have no idea what it's about.
- Was friendly with Taylor
- Erased the link to Kate's video on the mirror
- Wrote "Max was here" in the hangout spot
- Accepted Warren's invitation
- Gained entry to the Vortex Club Party
- Helped Warren with his experiment
- Told on David to Jefferson... and there you go, this is where that picture would have came in handy. Though now I don't regret standing up for Kate instead, I feel like that was a big factor in convincing her that I'm her friend and to step off the roof. |

Yes! I was getting really pissed at Max constantly going "I know there's a bonfire spot somewhere here" cause I thought she was talking about something completely different that kind of looked like one to me.
That sucks about Kate, didn't realize it'd be that easy to lose her! It's going to be interesting reading our thoughts with our stories all taking different turns |

I answered father, which I believe is the correct response.
In her room there is a nice little post card from her father giving her support and showing how much he loves her and Max notes how nice he seems. In contrast, there is a nasty e-mail on her computer from her mother condemning her for the video. There really isn't any mention at all of her siblings, though there is a family photo and iirc, I don't think she even has brothers (: I might be remembering that wrong. |

Weird... I never even got a bible verse question. Sounds like that whole exchange was very, very different depending on all the minor decisions and searching around you did. That's really cool! Makes me want to make sure I look for absolutely everything in every room.
On an unrelated note... I've been thinking about Rachel Amber. Anyone else starting to think that Rachel has the same ability as Max and can reverse time and it somehow caused her to vanish? It really bothered me in the first episode how absolutely everyone loved and adored Rachel cause it just seemed really tacky, but I was just starting to think... I'm really trying to get everyone to accept Max too. And I reverse time a lot to make sure that I can have every conversation possible with everyone. Maybe she was doing the same thing. |

First of all decisions...
- I left the money. Similar to Boc, didn't want to leave evidence and really there just feels liek there is a better way to get Chloe out of that jam than just stealing money. Seems too easy and too risky.
- I kissed Chloe cause... why the fuck not? Also I've been a bit of a wuss as Maxine so I want to show that I have balls too. If... this decision shows me having them, idk.
- I sided with Chloe... there is no point siding with David at this point.
- I kept Frank's dog from harm... why punish the dog for having a shitty owner? Fuck.
- I... kept Chloe have David's gun? I don't remember this as a decision, honestly. Am I that terrible?
- Lisa is dead! WHAT! I guess I must have drowned her. How sad.
- I "didn't" help Warren with his exam. I don't know what this means. Good navigator, I am.
- I am on the Vortex Club Party list. I guess this is from the rewind I did at the desk.
- I didn't erase the cop's message. I actually did, but I did it after I already played it. I didn't want to rewind.
- I helped Alyssa.... I'm really curious what this is leading up to. I didn't notice it in the second episode, but so far I've helped her twice. I did not warn the homeless woman... I don't know what this is talking about.
- I didn't take a photo in the past. I couldn't figure out how! I knew I could from looking at the photo list in the journal but didn't find a camera in time to do it.
= I didn't leave a mark on the fireplace... once again, no idea what this is alluding to.
This both annoys and excites me that I missed SOOO many things. I thought I searched everything possible in this episode but I missed so damn much from my minor decisions.
I also rewound a LOT, and not to change decisions. I felt like an idiot getting David's password. Literally THE LAST FUCKING ONE I TRIED was the one that was it, meaning I rewound like 20 times to get it. Unbelievable. I also rewound so damn much in the diner cause I had no idea what the fuck to do with Frank at first. Also got caught a few times during the pool chase scene cause I suck at video games.
The ending... fuck. As soon as we rewound back to Chloe's dad being alive I was really, really, really hoping for it to be a decision so I could allow him to walk out the door and die in the same exact way. You DO NOT fuck with the past! Especially major, life altering events like that. I hated that we absolutely had to save him, but I suppose with this gigantic change that there was just no way to make an alternate path? Seeing Chloe in that wheelchair was depressing... though, I was expecting to see her dead tbh.
Just to mention since Kate did live in mine, she was not physically present in this episode but she was mentioned a lot. The boards in the dorm were filled with get well's for her and Max was seen as a hero to the whole school. Max being a hero was a big plot point of the episode. Kate also sent a text thanking Max for saving her life. |

About the Vortex Club thing...
Is it me or was this episode particularly cutscene driven? It seemed like there were much fewer conversation segments where we could actually pick what we were saying, Max was leading most of the conversation herself. I'm thinking this episode was more of a break to allow all the decisions to sort of catch-up and get organized. It definitely seems like a lot of your past decisions are coming back to you now. The plant finally dying if you don't take care of it, for instance. I believe the Vortex Club decision was based on numerous factors on how you treated members of the Club and even the "main" gun decision was heavily influenced by whether or not Chloe had the gun still or not. Frank didn't have the gun in my game, so I had no decision at all there.
It was still very good, regardless! This is the first episode of the series that I truly feel I HAVE to replay. I missed so damn much despite it being, as I just said, somewhat linear... but was it?
Also forgot to mention... did you ever bother to search the backyard of Chloe's house in present day? I saved the blue jay from death and found him happily chirping in the bathroom however the backyard was rather... disturbing. I'm wondering if that's some sort of consequence of saying the bird's life. |

There was an earlier decision in the first episode where a bird smacks into a window and dies. You can choose to rewind and the bird will fly in to safety, which I did. I was wondering if all the dead birds were the cause of me dong that, perhaps cause of that split second I chose to rewind time to open a window caused every other bird's timing to be off and do the same thing. It's just.... bizarre. So I take it you had like eight dead birds on the lawn too? No idea what that's about! For some reason after I saved that bird, I thought something REALLY bad was going to happen.
There was a few contemplative scenes actually! One at the start on a bench outside the school and another while laying in bed with Chloe.
looool I had the same issue with the eggs. I was so mad when I saw it at the front door... who leaves groceries just sitting at the front door? |

Is this game fun? I watched the first episode but I haven't played it. |
Yes. Lots of exploring you can do, many different outcomes. Has a surreal amount of replayability. |

wut. Can you actually play it too?
I'm tempted to just get this on PC, it's going to be impossible to play this on my XBox anytime soon.

I only just got to Chloe asking me to kill her and needing to go back in time to kill William again to get things to normal.
SO GOOD so far but unfortunately I had to stop due to the livingroom getting busy and Mr. C constantly asking why I was playing a soap opera game to kill the mood.
Also, I killed her. God was that fucking depressing. I'll probably finish it tonight. |
