Boy what an absolutely tragic episode for Jake. The F5 idol blunder, narrowly losing both immunities, breaking the challenge and getting yelled at by Jeff, never getting his big move, pretty much being ignored at the final questioning. I knew he had zero chance but I couldn't help but root for him. I was rooting for Reba this whole game but as soon as the episode started I just thought to myself that I really wanted to see Jake win. Definitely not a very good player, but one of the most likable people on the show by far for me. I would love to see him come back.
Dee was easily the best player and it wasn't even close. I was totally dumbfounded at that F5 tribal, there was zero reason she should have survived that. Katurah has got to be one of the most frustrating people to ever watch play this game in some time, she blew a lot of big moves and did absolutely nothing to help herself that entire game. Jake definitely mishandled letting information about his idol leak, but they still had a Dee blindside right in front of them and Katurah totally fumbled it. That aside, I think Dee is definitely the strongest winner of the new era by a mile.
Overall I enjoyed the season a lot. Some really memorable tribals and the longer episodes really helped us get very attached to this cast. So glad I hopped back into Survivor again after so many years. | |
