I made this thread years ago and was gonna bump it, but I can't find it. So a new thread ahoy!

With the recent ndim scare, I thought it'd be appropriate to bring this back. The idea in this thread is to go through your post history for this month and pick a year. Then reminisce on some memories over some posts from that year! I'll start in the next post with...

2013! 10 years ago. Damn does time fly. I was 23 years old, I was living in Utah for less than two years at that point. I was working in the meat department at Walmart and thinking about quitting. I was living with my dad and stepmom in their house and browsing FE on the kitchen table. I still had hair and still never had a girlfriend.

Onwards!

I'm pretty much exclusively streaming everything too. I don't have DVR on my TV downstairs and it's rare that people aren't using the one upstairs. TV is hard to keep up with due to my incredibly silly work schedule. BB and Survivor are really the only shows I actually watch on television. Everything is either downloaded or Netflix'd.

1) Big Brother
2) Survivor
3) Sons of Anarchy
4) Walking Dead
5) Breaking Bad
6) Orange is the New Black
7) House of Cards
8) Louie
9) Curb Your Enthusiasm

BB and Survivor are kind of just automatic at this point. Even though I bitch about them all the time, I've been watching both since I was like 9 and I'm probably not stopping anytime soon. As for the others, caught up on all of them and intend to continue watching them except Breaking Bad (Only on Season 2. Like it so far though!).10011111111111111112222222

OP is a POTD about shows I'm currently watching.

This has remained mostly true. I have a really hard time binging through TV shows. Shows I do watch are usually just background noise to something I'm doing on the computer or cleaning. And honestly.... this was probably the last time I remember watching so many different new shows at the same time. I don't even watch reality TV anymore when I use to religiously, the last Survivor season I watched was Season 33! It's crazy to me that Orange is the New Black was on 10 years ago, where does the time go??

Also I have no idea what the string of numbers here means (:

What season is this one modeled after? I haven't used the Survivor one a lot, but the Big Brother simulator is so great so far and there's so much to make it even better.

Super excited regardless, I'm probably first boot tho.

Dude.

Man BrantSteele has been around forever and it's kinda funny seeing this after just updating Ultimate Showdown finally yesterday.

Noise Rock, Punk, Hardcore, Math Rock, Indie and Classic Rock make the bulk of my playlist.

Hate most manufactured mainstream shit. When my old MP3 player busted before I got my iPod, I about died when I had to suffer with the radio. Only thing up here is about 20 Country stations, a Top 40 station and NPR. NPR it was.

I was a fucking snob with music back then. I've softened up on this a lot. I actually don't mind Top 40 at all anymore. Also electronic music has bypassed everything these days. I don't listen to a lot of punk or it's subgenres anymore.

Finally watched the episode.

I dunno how to feel. Honestly I came into this with really bad feelings but the twist overall... is actually very well done. Once we get deep in the game, it could get very intense. The whole RI sacrifice thing is really interesting too.

The big problem here, however, is that it's previous players. This twist itself could have worked just as well without them. The chumminess and people knowing each other kind of dampens the effect of what they had. In addition, returning players may not mind as much letting their loved one play on (Just like what happened with Rupert, and what I bet happened with John/Candice as well). Also people are going to target loved ones based off who their loved one is (Rupert's wife, Gervase's niece (Although that could have happened to anyone to be fair)), which fucks people over needlessly.

Couple of other things...

Oh great, another MEN RULE THE WORLD alliance. Very original. How hilarious that Hayden has gotten himself into yet another Bro-Gade alliance. Jesus Christ. Hope these dweebs implode soon.

I think I'm more athletic than Gervase and that's not something to be proud of. Although it made me laugh because one of Gervase's angles on Borneo was that he couldn't swim. Why the fuck would they put him in the front of the boat when he was doing so shitty in the challenge? Weird.

Had a feeling Colton's whole thing was a facade with that next episode preview. It's great that this guy cries on television because people don't understand what it's like to be him, yet he's probably the biggest bigot to ever be on television. Fuck off.

Man I do honestly very much miss watching and discussing Survivor... perhaps I should watch this year with that shiny Paramount+ subscription I barely I ever use (:

Finally was able to catch this just now.

Andy winning was the right move for sure. I don't really get his hate at all, he played a hell of a game from start to finish. Call it "floating", but he knew there were bigger threats than him in the game and he wanted to keep it that way. It worked like an absolute dream. I called him one the safest people in the game very early on and it's no big surprise that it paid off.

I did kind of facepalm when he axed Spencer but as soon as GM started talking during those questions, I understood why he did it. That was one of the most cringeworthy things I ever saw. I had to actually look away from the TV. Awwwful. Glad to see questions were treated with a little bit more importance this season cause it may have very well made a difference this time around. Ever since BB11, they've been watered down and treated like they don't matter. I enjoyed Dr. Will playing Jeff Probst during the debate too, that was a nice treat. I hope they make that a yearly fixture with maybe a different alumni each time.

No shock at Elissa winning America's Favorite. Ugh at that stupid shocked face she made, did anyone really expect anything else? Although Howard in the Top 3 was awesome. I wish he made jury :(

Off to look at post-game interviews. I'm interested in Aaryn and GM's reactions to being fired.

p sure this season is why I don't watch BB anymore. I was a Big Brother fanatic and I think this is the year I actually sent in an audition tape.

KC @ 22/9/2013 13:39
RGIII fucking sucks.

Gronkowski needs to come back already..... I can't believe I'm rooting for a Patriots player to get well right now.

The only year I played Fantasy Football, Robert Griffin III was my #1 pick. I don't play Fantasy Football anymore.

KC @ 24/9/2013 13:59
Ah, very cool. I think if the actual people being promoted help out, it would work perfectly.

Also another similar idea, featured players for the various FE-related games would be neat along with that. Although it would be incredibly overwhelming considering the amount of regulars. Can't really talk on this cause I still have people yelling at me that I never finished mine. But it's something like this: http://urtvhome.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=profiles .

If the actual players help out with their own stats, quotes and profiles it could get shit done. I tried to get people to help out with these but people just wanted to see what I'd say more than actually help which is kind of why I stopped doing it. Twas meant to be interactive.

Holy shit, that link took me down another rabbithole. I can't believe it's been almost 12 years since I've hosted anything. But yes! Affiliate links! Let's make it happen!

KC @ 26/9/2013 16:47
....porn usage? Most people in this state are forbidden to even touch their penis unless it's to create a baby.

OP is what sucks about my state. This is hilarious because porn was outlawed in Utah this year. Porn sites are blocked from being accessed by anyone in the state of Utah because porn is evil.

KC @ 26/9/2013 10:29
Playing through GTA V, all I can keep thinking is why the fuck do we need another generation now anyway?

I'm not getting anything right away. I got a 360 really late, just a little under 2 years ago. So I still have a lot of really great games I haven't even touched yet. Looking at both though, I'm not a fan of Microsoft's vision at all. I play video games and sometimes Netflix. That's it. I don't need a master entertainment system. But nonetheless, I'll let the reviews speak before I throw my money away.

Ended up getting a PS4 two years later (:

This attitude definitely didn't stick because I got a PS5, Series X and new PC all this year because I'm terrible with my money.

Oh

Nice!

KC @ 26/9/2013 23:03
Annnnd done. Incredible. Everything about this game was such a step up from GTA IV.

Wanted to hold off on blasting through that end game but damn, shit got intense and I just had to see how it'd all end. Not that it matters, I'm sure as shit not done playing. There's still a lot of side shit I haven't touched yet and I still have much exploring to do, namely underwater stuff. I am 100% replaying through this in the future due to all the alternative choices and you can make. I played Vice City and SA both at least 10 different times and this will likely be the same way. It helps that those games are very linear and this one isn't. There's a lot of decisions you can make and I'm really curious how they effect the ending or how heists go.

The only thing I'm a little bummed about is heists and the reason for that is....

Spoiler+

Other than that minor knock, it was masterfully well done. I'm so hyped for GTA Online.

I beat GTA V on my birthday. Huh.

Mass majority of my posts throughout this year's September is GTA V as it had just launched in the beginning of the month. I don't think I've ever matched the hype I had for a game release since then and doubt I ever will. I bought a 360 specifically to be able to play GTA V when it came out and after never having a gaming PC and being stuck with my PS2 until then, it was a pretty mindblowing jump.

Oh my god I remember this shit

Also I sure do miss those holiday themed games, those were a lot of fun

Doesn't have to be 10 years ago or even the furthest date, just any random year in your post history for the current month you wanna pick.

Which on the subject of, it's now October!

Going through 2017! I'll kind of do this one like Curtis did unless I need to specifically show the post.

- We were running BBPE4! What a fun, albeit extremely frustrating time this was. Then Tim totally ruined everything. Thanks man. :tim: But still, overall, some great stuff! Including these heds!

Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

- I was running Season 1 of Ultimate Showdown and I can't believe that was 6 years ago, wtf.

- Gordon Hayward broke his ankle on his very first game with the Celtics within 5 minutes and I remember being pretty crushed. For those who don't follow basketball, Gordon Hayward was the star player of the Utah Jazz, of which I'm a fan. He left the Jazz and went to the Celtics, which left a lot of Utahns butthurt but I was still excited to see how he'd do. This is fucking ironic considering what happened to me with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets this year (: Same exact situation, good hell.

- "id almost rather dump semen on my head than milk, at least it's free" - Shadow"

- We started posting this man everywhere

Posted Image

- AIM died along with chair152

- Zersch predicted Ralphie May's death in the Celebrity Death Pool 2017. Congrats!

- I forgot all about this and this made me laugh a lot. Had a nice bot try to add me on Facebook and I always love going through their account to see what desperate men are saying to their obviously fake photos. This one was hysterical.

- Here's another one

- I was able to play Friday the 13th again after some random bug stopped me from doing so. This was a happy day.

- Hey, thanks for this Lamps.

Posted Image

- I was playing Life is Strange: Before the Storm and absolutely loved it.

- Oh hey this saga continues

- Jeff Varner yelled at me on Skype for being too loud.

KC @ 22/10/2017 13:34
Mr. C, who use to mock me for liking this show, keeps remind me about the premier and I just keep saying "I don't care."

And it's sad. This show use to be must watch but these last two seasons have been mostly background noise to me. Especially this last one. I HOPE this next season is better but... bleh.

He STILL rewatches this nonstop. Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad and Survivor seasons. Just a constant rotation. It's so weird. Also I absolutely stopped watching TWD by this point. Unfortunate

KC @ 25/10/2017 2:44
Let's Be Evil

Terrible. Cool concept and I really liked the first half of it, the camera perspective being exclusively through the first person view of the three main characters was neat. But it fell apart pretty quickly after that.

I WAS TRYING TO FUCKING REMEMBER THIS MOVIE FOR AGES and could not remember the name or the concept. Thanks History of You. Yeah this movie was trash.

- I got into a silly argument with Shadow in BBPE and he told me
Shadow @ 25/10/2017 16:14
why dont you go fuck yourself and fap to the non existent pussy you pretend to get

- Igor was absolutely terrible this month.
