That is freaking amazing.

Thanks Gmaj!

You play too if I recall correctly? I don't know if I ever asked you but what instrument? We only really talked about it when we were making up that chord progression in mafia.

I play the guitar as well, but I play chords and rhythm. I'm sad to say I barely know the pentatonic scales.
I have 2 acoustics. A black Taylor jumbo and a Martin D-28. I try to play them once a week or so, but it doesn't always happen.
I also have a Gibson Melody Maker that I hardly ever play.

I actually found my way over here to the music & creative threads to see if you (Wikey) have a thread talking about your gear.

So the gibson MM, my grandpa gave me when I was around 12 or 13 years old, and back then - the 80s - I played all the hair metal stuff. Ozzy, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, etc. I had the MM and a green Tube Screamer pedal and a small Rickenbacker amp that had a built in distortion. I could play the rhythm and basic riffs to many songs, but I never could or never tried to do the solos.

Then I got married young and had kids and didn't play much at all until the mid 90s. I picked up my old acoustic that I had had for years - I think it was a Goya brand - and started playing classic country songs like Willie, Merl Haggard and George Strait. And shortly after that I forced myself to learn to play and sing at the same time which wasn't terribly easy for me.

Fast forward a few years (early 00s), I've got a decent career and been taking care of my family and everything, so I decide to treat myself to a nice guitar, and that's when I bought the Taylor. This is the only guitar I've ever bought :D

Fast forward to now. I play and sing 80s new wave stuff like DM, Erasure, The Cure, New Order as well as the classic country stuff mentioned before.

And that's pretty much my life story. The end.

Very cool Gmaj. I'm guessing that would make the Gibson one of the original models if your Grandfather gave you it?

And yeah, learning to play and sing at the same time is tough! Well worth doing though.

The Gibson and the Martin were both made in the 70s I believe. I forgot to say earlier, the same grandpa gave me the Martin like 2 years ago.
