I've read and decided I was going to buy the game three or four times now but I talk myself out of it each time. Like Natalie said the price drop is inevitable due to the bad scores. That being said, from what I've read that people that are fans of Westeros and forgiving of outdated graphics and horrible voice acting will have plenty of fun, if just for the novelty of being in the world.

It takes place during the first book but the events of the game are not canon.

It's definitely stupid, and all of it falls on the show creators because they strayed off course with Qarth.

Fourteen new castings for Game of Thrones season 3, which will premiere March 31st, 2013. A hop, skip, and jump down the road but I am still excited.

The video below introduces you to the actors. I made a little spoiler free list of the characters and a brief overview with links to the applicable IMDb pages. Beric Dondarrion didn't seem to have one. Or I spelled his name wrong three times.

Olenna Tyrell, the "Queen of Thorns." Matriarch of the Tyrell family, very old and VERY opinionated. Pretty cool character, actually.

Orell - A wildling raider that is accompanied by a pet eagle. Conjecture is they will also condense the character of Varamyr Sixskins into Orell for the show.

Brynden Tully, "the Blackfish." A fan favorite. Appeared in book one but was excluded from the show. After the first book his appearances are random. Curious to see what they do with him. Catelyn's uncle, one of Robb's best generals, and an extraordinary fighter.

Missandei - A translator that works under a slave master. Interacts with Dany in Astapor

Shireen Baratheon - Stannis' frail daughter. Accompanied by a creepy jester in the books called Patchface. He doesn't appear to be worth a slot this season.

Thoros of Myr - A red priest and follower of the Red God like Melisandre. I believe he was shown, but recast, in Season 1 during the tournament. Something with a flaming sword IIRC.

Jojen Reed - Child of Howland Reed, Ned Stark's closest friend, sent to counsel Bran. Called "Little Grandfater."

Meera Reed - Child of Howland Reed, sister to Jojen. Accompanies him.

Beric Dondarrion - Seen in Season 1 VERY briefly when King Robert sent him on a mission to the Riverlands, seems to have been recast.

Tormund Giantsbane - A boisterous Wildling that loves himself, but above that loves his family. Has like fifty nicknames. He rules.

Selyse Baratheon - Stannis' neglected wife. Boring, but necessary. Can't help but feel for her situation, though.

Edmure Tully. Catelyn Stark's brother, and commander of the Riverlands.

Amazing...thank you!

Also, found the link for Beric if you are interested.

You're very welcome, I figure it might be helpful since that's fourteen brand new characters they're dumping into the lap of non-readers or readers that haven't caught up. I like to try to help out with any "who's that? who's this?" that arises. And I'm looking forward to watching this season alongside non-readers. It will be a barrel of fun.

That was the actor that played Beric in Season 1, but your post lead me to just Google the new guy and it brought him up. I don't know why the in-house IMDb search didn't.

Richard Dormer - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0233807/

No apologies needed for trying to help out! Kinda wish they would have stuck with the original guy TBH. But his part was so small and I haven't seen this new guy in action so I have exactly zero basis to judge either of them on.

I also hope the original Gregor Clegane comes back. He left to film the Hobbit and to be honest I couldn't even pick the new Gregor out in this past season. I remember hearing him addressed a few times but the original Mountain that chopped the horse's head off had hella presence.

Season two mostly took liberties with Dany's story, and for good reason.

I only hated that they left out a majority of the House of Undying stuff.

I guess it is a little less blatant in print than being acted out on screen, though.

And yeah, now I want to know what Dylan's secret television show is.

True Blood? Dexter? I think they've both strayed from the books.

I used to dig on some Gilmore Girls back in the day, so I can't pass judgment.

At least this show apparently has Game of Thrones level of intrigue and suspense.

How long into the series until the first ceremonial beheading?

Read the books and you'll be like six seasons ahead by the time they catch up, since they're splitting some into two seasons.

Well, since you're invested in the show it would p. much be spoilers for you, so it's not stupid.

You should give the first book a read if none of the others, just so you can appreciate that they were able to knock it out of the park in such a way.

Where did you all hear that George left notes for another author to complete the books in the event of his passing? Everything I ever read said that he was staunchly opposed to that idea, and did not want anyone else to touch the books if he were to die. I remember even reading that he told his wife, Paris, to burn his notes if he died.

This was all prior to him giving the general outline to Weiss and the other show runner, though.

Oh wow I completely forgot they cut that scene.

That was a very strange change. The original scene was so much more powerful. Wasn't it also where his nickname for her originated?
