I will endorse your objective while trying to liberate Otis from this strange blackhole in the internet where he is forced to only socialize with Sonic Fan Guy. In fact, I guess the two objectives do indeed run parallel. We must strike with surgical precision. If Sonic fan somehow finds out about this (either by looking at his website or coming back here) we're going to have to be prepared to do what is necessary to ensure he doesn't cut Otis' throat before we can get to and save him.
