What rose said. Even if you hate the job, give notice and do all you can to make the transition smooth. Work.hard, train replacements, organize, etc...

Unless the boss is a petty douche who throws a fit and tells you to gtfo now.

Or unless you talked t over and they don't need you to stay for other reasons, industry slowdown, etc...
