I do leg quarters on the grill. Sometimes the wife does em in the oven. Pretty quick and easy compared to other BBQ items.

I do see what vlady is saying about potato salad, though. Places get too fancy and fuck it all up. Then again, you should never be eating BBQ in a place that gets fancy. If they have real plates. RUN!!!!

Mac and cheese as we know it was invented in the US. Pasta was not, nor was cheese. Jeffersons wife gets credit for inventing it using a pasta maker from italy and parmesan cheese. That was later replaced with very british cheddar cheese, and finally with some kind of chemical goo made in a laboratory.

Okra, otoh came from africa with the slave trade, but is southern fried.
