I've done most of these. I don't donate time at the humane society like I used to, but because I don't have much time left. I have never started a charity, either.

A big chunk of my time and money goes to helping family these days, but I still like to tip at a drive through or pay it forward once in awhile, and I always try to help my neighbors.

Also he clearly wasn't hammered.

Had a guy approach me for help at the gas pumps outside Walmart once, veteran, just gotten cancer, trying to keep his family going ... he even had his xrays from his doc. I offered to buy him a tank of gas, no cash.

If I see em outside a grocery store, I buy them some cheap portable protein and other food items, bottled water, hygiene products, etc and give it to em on my way out.
