It literally became a random drawing of lots. The Reps won it and so they control the House of Delegates, all because somewhere in Virginia, one person didn't vote. Congratulations you find an outlier. Now take every election that takes place then find the percentage where one vote determines it. Spoiler: It is essentially impossible statistically for your vote to ever matter in a national election. Likely similar with a congressional election. Local/very small elections are where your vote have more impact

The single vote has much more stroke in the small and local elections. Those elections also impact your daily life much more than the national elections do.

I usually vote republican due to the industry I work in. My political beliefs are usually right down the middle. This year I refused to vote either of those giant turds and went 3P.

I vote 3p pretty regularly.

My big hope is that trump will scare the parties so bad that they either head back to center or go so far out there that the people will finally stop drinking that jungle juice they shit out.

I would add that it is happening more and more at the local level. I have also read that the dems will head further left in the 2018 elections.

In short, look for Dems to win in 2018, but to still need to find their ass before 2020.

The party outside the WH always wins the off year seats.

regardless of my hopes. The real outcome of Trumps win is that candidates appear to be running on even less substance than ever before. The early stuff I'm seeing in MO is all vague ideals that pander to existing bias with absolutely no attempt at a plan to get them done. They at least used to spew some BS to go along with it. Hell, even Bernies simple ass had something resembling a plan.

Yeah- I expect a lot of "I'm not Trump" campaigns on both sides of the aisle. But that's not a campaign- if so, I should be elected.

The stuff I have seen is more like "we need universal health care. I have no idea how to make that happen, but vote for me" or straight out "hate the rich" pandering.
