I have absolutely no idea what is going on in this game. I read everybody's posts, and I feel like I'm the only one who didn't get the invite to the real game forum, and this is all just a show to confuse me.

When it came down to the end of the day, to me, Cody was all over the place, which felt like a scum maneuver, whereas Merc was funny and bashing DS, so I voted Cody.

If that's saving Merc, then sure, I voted to save Merc.

Do I have any idea what Merc's alignment is? Nope.

What do we think of this switch? Is there precedence in these games for it to be a random event, or is the general assumption that it was inflicted through somebody's (some people's?) action? I think it feels a bit unfair for have random deaths in a game like this, but I'm not sure if it's something occasionally comes up and people can expect to be a possibility.

I'd guess it was tied to a role, and a player activated that action to start the day. Probably had some way to pick targets. I doubt it was purely random selection, but if it was, Rodney is even more of a bastard than I originally thought.
