Jaws is Jurassic Park on a boat. Is there tension? Sure. Are there moments that make you jump? Yeah. Is it "horror". Not to me it isn't.

I like Jaws, and I can't stand Horror movies, ergo, Jaws isn't a Horror movie.

People still have an irrational fear of sharks while swimming because of it.

Anaconda was equally as terrifying as a child, but nobody is running around afraid to go swimming because of giant snakes. Also, nobody would consider Anaconda a horror movie.

No, it just happens that the circle containing horror movies and the circle containing movies I don't like, overlap a lot on my personal movie venn diagram.

Calling Jaws a horror movie is like calling a diamond a really old piece of coal. Technically fits the description, but completely misses the point.

ACTUALLY, age doesn't have anything to do with it. It's all pressure and temperature.

With all the talk of sharks making movies horror films, why hasn't anyone mentioned the scariest shark horror movie yet?
