And then there were only two tributes left, the two from District 12. Having just taken another life, Katniss could feel that the games were just about over. She was tired, hungry, and in desperate need of medical attention. With just her and Peeta left, she was sure they would work together to find help and figure out what their next move would be. Would the gamemakers allow them to win together, or would she have to kill Peeta in order to escape? Could she kill Peeta if needed to? She wasn't sure what she would do next, so she turned around to ask for his guidance, once again.




However, while she was ruminating on her choices, Peeta knew exactly what he needed to do. He knew the gamemakers wouldn't allow the two of them to win together, so if he was going to get out and return to his family, he had to take out the girl he had fallen in love with, but he knew deep down, she was just faking it the whole time. He knew, even if the two of them left together, they'd never actually be together, so why not take the glory for himself. He looked ahead, and on the ground was Katniss' backpack, as she had dropped it in her earlier fight. He quickly made his way to it, and drew out the bow and arrows from it. He quickly threaded an arrow onto the bow, and drew back the string, waiting for her to turn around.



And turn around she did, only to see her friend, and partner, taking aim squarely at her with her bow. "Peeta, what are you doing? Let's figure this out together!" she shouted. "You are nothing but a lie, Katniss, and now everyone will know it." Taking one last deep breath, Peeta let go of the bow string and the arrow flew straight and true, hitting Katniss squarely in the chest. She barely had time to contemplate her life, when everything went black for the last time.

With the cannon sounding for the 23rd, and final time, Peeta knew what he had just done. He had just won the 74th Edition of the Hunger Games, and him, and his family, would be treated well and receive the benefits of being a victor for the rest of his days back in District 12. No more baking bread for him, unless he wanted to.

Why Curtis over Merc?

Going into D6, Merc, Maddie, and Josh were all injured (and dying), so the only two people who would have lived through the day (without curtis giving out one of his many med-kits), were Dadd and Curtis. Once Dadd was lynched, Curtis was the only one who would have survived into the night.

There was a stipulation, where if two tributes from the same district ever met in the Cornucopia at the same zone, both picking peace would have resulted in them forming an alliance and getting a PF. This never happened, but was close once (the night where 5 people all visited the same zone).

Now, could they have won together as an alliance? :evilsmile:

Sponsors gifts were some BS ...

Two sponsor gifts were awarded for activity on D1 and D2, then people ruined that for everyone else. Beyond that, the other sponsor gifts were relatively minor and were decided upon by the sponsors (a.k.a. the dead people). If you didn't like who they picked, you'll need to take it up with them. :)

Thanks for the food Primate! I think I was going to die 3 times, and was fortunate to find what I needed. Plus the med-kit to survive the tracker jacker attack. I know the gamemakers released them, but who was hitting people with it?

A vial of tracker-jacker bait was available for acquisition every night in the Cornucopia. Tracker-jackers were always planned to be released during Day 6.

I have a question about my death- I apparently killed Herm, but then had to fight Angi. Was this because Angi was a career? Because I know we didn't get into multi-people battles any other time when multiple people showed up.

You were killed because when you and Angi fought, you were already injured, so a second injury = death.

It was a really fun game, spin. Thanks for running it. I was so mad at myself for risking it on N1 and not getting to use my night action on the thief.

Not a single one of your mines was ever used during the game.

I'll do a HOF/HOL later on, when I have more time to think over things and put something together, but the lols-iest player of the game has to go to Dadd, hands down.

His role was uber-awesome in the Cornucopia, in that he took the item in the zone before anyone else could get there, and never could fight with anyone else. For this power, he started with only 1 food, and could only visit the Cornucopia every other night. N1 he visited one of the two zones that were empty, and on N3 he did the exact same thing. There were never more than 2 empty zones, and Dadd found them, pretty much every time.

Body Armor ==> Protects against direct attacks (career kill, merc's daykill, sponsor gift daykill)

Med-kit ==> Repair injuries (Cornucopia fights, Lamps bullwhip, keep those attacked from tracker-jackers alive)

It appears Dadd didn't have that same issue when an odd number of folks went to the same zone.

Dadd didn't have an issue, because he visited before anyone else. So, Dadd stole the goods (in this case nothing), and the other two people met and fought (over nothing).

The night you fought Herm and Angi, 3 people went to the same zone. I randomly selected two people to meet first, then, if anyone was still standing, they'd meet player 3. If you and herm and both picked Peace, you both would have fought Angi separately.

This is also how when 5 people visited Zone 11 on night 2, two pairs of people fought, all picked war, so all were injured, and im317 was the lucky one left behind and he got the goods.
