You all know the deal by now. If you want to play, send me a list of 4 songs (spotify playlist links are great, but not required) that you feel fit the theme and description listed below. Vern has decided on the following theme for this last episode of Season 2.

Theme: Songs made popular by movies.
Description: This can be soundtracks or just straight up songs. It needs to be very notable if the song wasn’t created for the movie.

So, dig back into your childhood (or last week) and think about those songs that were playing while you were watching your favorite films. I'll keep sign-ups open until I have at least 8 entries, and then give any remaining stragglers a day or so after that before closing them up.

I'll let you all interpret his rules as you want. My list may entirely be popular songs that were also in movies.

It looks like I've received 6 or so entries so far. My new semester just started today and I'm teaching 6 different classes this semester, so I'm a bit frazzled at the moment (most college instructors teach 1 or 2 different courses per semester). I'll get to them in the order they arrived in the next day or so.

I'm sure you all picked awesome songs and there are no duplications.

Nobody wants more of me, so no, I don't think it has.

I've now got 9 submissions (waiting on 2 of those to get back to me with replacement songs), and I haven't even put my own list together yet, so we'll say signups will close on Friday, so if you want to play, and haven't sent in a list yet, you have about 48 hours to do so.

My list is better. Not by much, but still better.

I just sampled the first 30 seconds or so of everyone's submissions so far, and I was able to identify the movie in maybe half? Maybe two-thirds?

This probably just means I need to watch more movies. Keep the submissions coming!

Ok, signups closed. I'm off all day tomorrow, so I'll get the opening group rounds posted sometime then, and you can all listen to songs you didn't realize were in movies.

Turns out my “honey-do” list was longer than expected today. I’ll get this up for sure tomorrow.
