I read this thread, it was a rollercoaster seeing what we know now to what was being posted two months ago. Curtis glad your family is doing well after catching the virus!

I'm not working from home, I can't. My work has split shifts for us lab workers (half work 6am-2pm, the other 2:30pm-10:30pm) and then switch the following week (tho I might get the 6-2 full time since my coworker likes the afternoon shift for reasons???). We have a screening protocol where we get our temperature taken before every shift and asked a bunch of questions before being allowed in the building. My bf is working from home and it's taken a toll on him. Us not having the gym has been really hard - we were lucky we had various dumbbells and a workout bench and resistant bands to help a little.

Only about 60 cases (total, I think less than 20 active) in my city and 1 death. Three nursing homes declared outbreaks though in the last 3 days so the number of cases I'm sure will definitely take a jump.

My city hasn’t had a new case since mid may and we also have no active cases for a few weeks. I trust these numbers due to our city having done the most test per capita in ontario and possibly canada. We have started opening up more things this past weekend like patios, malls, hair salons/tattoo studios.

My city is reopening gyms, restaurants, etc tomorrow. A lot of the province is going into this stage; masks are mandatory in stores but if the store allows you to enter without a mask, that’s their choice. I see a rare person without a mask. Social distancing is still a thing with the masks. If anyone followed bbcan2, Anick the first boot - I have on facebook since she’s from my hometown and she’s an Anti-mask/covid denier saying the government is trying to control us and push us into a cashless society. It’s all very cringe and sad there are tons of people who comment and support her twisted ideas.

We don’t have any active cases but wear a mask, it’s literally not that hard and trust me I know it’s annoying that either my glasses fog up or I have to move them so I look like a literal old person with them so far down my nose. They get warm and uncomfortable but it’s like you wear it for 30mins max at a time. unless you have to wear it while you work (which I feel these people are never the ones complaining about having to wear a mask)

It's crazy to me to see USA have gyms open with 71k new cases yesterday and have been open for awhile? not sure exactly how long but we are just opening them starting tomorrow (tho other provinces I think have had them open for a bit now)

my city has pretty much stayed clear of cases, we were doing well but shit has started hitting the fan thanks to one selfish teenager. The story is he went partying in Toronto and caught COVID, brought it back to my city - gave it to his mom and like 6 buddies. 8 cases pop up. Mom went to the hairdresser and infected the staff and the teenagers had a big 100+ party (wtf) and 10 more cases popped up a couple days later - there is a rumor that today or tomorrow at least 20 more people will be confirmed and then who knows about the other 80+ people at the party but wouldn't surprise me if many of them test positive too. It literally only takes one person to spread like wildfire and my city is seeing that.

Our premier of the province also is opening schools in September - elementary schools are still having the 30+ kids in the classroom and grade 4 and above will require to wear masks. This shit gonna spread and fast (:

jokes on all of you i lost my glasses right before the pandemic and havent been able to get my stuff together for a new pair because of the pandemic

I bought a pair of glasses right before covid shut everything down and I still haven’t picked them up because I forget and am lazy and hate calling places to make an appointment to pick them up. It’s a never ending anxiety cycle 🥺

my province is (very likely) going into lockdown starting xmas eve, with some regions only two weeks and most regions 28days I believe. Our cases are rising and I think this is to both try and help slow them and also to not allow christmas/NYE gatherings to happen

Ontario has been a mess for getting shots. We basically have to search for ourselves where clinics are going up. They have pop up clinics, clinics for AZ at drug stores.

My close college friend died last week of Covid and his brother told me. I'm devastated as we hung out regularly before Covid started.

However good news is, I got my first Pfizer shot yesterday. So far it's just mild arm stiffness. I can be waiting another 2-3 months before I get my second shot.

Very sorry to hear about your friend. As someone also in Ontario, they’ve really done a poor job at this. I’m not eligible right now but I know from people at work who are they can’t get ahold of anyone to book their shot. They call and call and call and get put on a list and then never booked.
