Aphorio tried to compose himself. He was trapped in this arena and surrounded by strange people that he knew nothing about. He felt somewhat like a caged animal.

He closed his eyes and tried to relax, and as he did he could feel his mind focus on the sound of the flowing stream nearby. Feeling a little calmer now, he opened his eyes once more.

He felt very out in the open right now, but there was a bridge nearby. Perhaps he could seek cover underneath it. However, he also knows that trolls sometimes reside under bridges, so he proceeded with caution.

I hope I interpreted the map correctly because it kinda looks like there is land that extends underneath the bridge from the south west side, but if I misinterpreted it its no big deal.

Alright, he will give it a shot. He dangles down from the bridge and tries to grab the potion.

Should I be doing anything else for my turn? I still have movement to climb out of the river of acid that I may have plunged into.

I will get out of the water at D13 and move 5 feet. I will end my turn at D14.

IDK if it would make a difference but I don't think Vera's attack modifier was applied to those attack roles? Which I think is pretty high because she has a strength of 19?

Aphorio is interested in the potion... but does he see the giant that Vera is fighting right now? That fight seems like it's happening close by.

Aphorio is going to try for that potion one more time. It's so damn tempting.

Also I just realized I may have had to expend 5 movement to do that. If so, I guess I'm at D13 now?

Aphorio lets out a triumphant shout as he narrowly avoids taking more falling into the river again. He shoves the potent healing potion in his pocket and scans his surroundings once again.

As his eyes settled on the river, he shivers. Its existence is a reminder that there is something deeply unnatural about this place. It both infuriates him, it unsettles him, and on some level it terrifies him. He decides to put some distance between him and the damned river. He makes his way over to a nearby boulder so that he shouldn't be caught out in the open.

He finds his mind wandering to the fair maiden he saw in the distance. Perhaps she might be an ally who could help him navigate this strange place...

Aphorio is going to move through squares D15, D16, E17, F18, and end at G18, where he will do a perception check on the nearby rocks.

If he can see Vera, he would like to speak to her but I'm not sure if that counts as any sort of action. I don't think it does? Correct me if I'm wrong though.

He will also call out to Vera: "Hey there red, my name is Aphorio. I must admit I have never participate in any competition like this one before, so I am not certain how things are done around here, but would you care to join forces? This place is clearly dangerous and it could be useful to have a friend in here. As a gesture of good faith, I will warn you about the dangers of the river to the north. If you go for a swim, it may be your last."
