We have decided it'd be fun to have an FE poker game over Skype or several! I'll figure out a fair way to host it and when I do I'm all for running one of these. I'd much rather play than host, so provided somebody comes and takes up my mantle on a subsequent night, this should be a lot of fun!

I'll probably have a real deck of cards and deal them out in front of me so I know who has what at all times. Then I'll reveal things virtually as we go. All players will have a virtual pot of chips to start with. It'd be cool if all players had microphones but not completely necessary. More fun though. Provided they can at least hear since some of us (and me hosting) will want to talk.

6-8 players is ideal. Also it'd be good if we could finish up in one night rather than spreading it out over consecutive nights, but I don't mind doing that if it's needed. So we need to make sure to sync up on a night where everybody is available and prepared to go on into the early hours somewhat.

Spectators will be more than welcome too. It'll be fun just to sit in on the chat I think.

Good. When are you available, since I know your night shifts are funky?

How I'll pull it off is probably like I say, having a deck in front of me and dealing the cards out in my room for each of the players. That way I always know what cards everybody has. I'll then post up the results when people reveal their hands and when the different cards are dealt.

Everybody will start with a preset virtual amount of chips for the betting. I'll keep tabs on who has what, and how much is on the table as we play. This is where it would help if the players were on mic because it'd be easier for me to keep tabs without having to keep checking on the messages but I have two monitors so I can probably have the count going on one and the chat going on the other.

Should be pretty easy to run in theory.

The only slightly awkward part is for dealing to individual players since I need to message them all privately but I can just have several one way IMs going with the players and send them their cards when I deal. Not really a problem.

Everybody is welcome and encouraged to watch. It'll be fun!

How are people set for next weekend?

Meh. I can reschedule. It depends on how many are available.
