I'm very tempted, sounds fun.

I spent a bunch of time yesterday watching videos of this game and learning about it, then went ahead and bought it off steam. Only to realize this morning that I bought "The Forest", not "7 Days To die".

Fuck me.

So they look pretty similar. Which is better?

My play time falls into "few and far between" so probably wouldn't be able to do much group stuff. Which do you think is funner solo?

Holy shit this game is hard. I haven't lived longer than 15 minutes so far.

After weeks of getting my face eaten and hiding at night like a gopher in a hole, I think I am actually starting to get the hang of this game! Finally figuring out how to cook better food/drink, make some better weapons, and confidently explore further from my base.

Need to find a cave so I can do some mining!

Today's hot tip for everybody:

Don't try to use your pick axe on gas pumps for scrap iron. It ends very badly.

The short version - you lose all your shit.

I've pumped about 15 hours into A13 so far. Damn, starting out is a lot tougher than it used to be. Takes all day just to harvest a couple trees and beat down the doors of a house to loot it. Zombies are tough to kill, headshots are difficult, especially on the fucking crawlers. Dogs seem way faster! Either that or the character is slower.

Hopefully this all means it will be more rewarding once I actually get established and can murder zombies at will. We will see.

All I know is that there is a ton of whining going on over at the 7dtd forums.

Anybody else playing much with the new update?

I started up the game just now but forgot what I wanted to do.

From looking at the forums it looks like alpha 14 is broken and buggy as hell. I am taking a break, haven't played in a month or so but once alpha 14 looks more stable I will be checking it out

Maybe once they fix any major issues we'll get back on it. In the meantime we'll just sometimes play on one of our files instead of an open server

Ok cool. I would be willing to donate if you want to start it up again. Also here's another option to consider. My buddy still has his server set up. I'm pretty sure he would be fine with anybody from FE playing there. He set it up for just the 2 of us basically and we had a few randoms popping through. I was still using it for weeks after he stopped playing. The only real problem I had is that he travels a lot and sometimes it would take a few days to get the server un-fucked when there was an issue. I could hit him up though.

Ip/port for his server is 73.25.22.172:26900 if anybody wants to try it out. We just reset so it's like day 3. Hardest difficulty of course. No password but it's not on the public server listing.

For some reason they are faster than you now, so you can't outrun them even with beer or whatever.

i like the new treasure hunting quests and stuff. Adds a little random adventure to the game.
