My desire to play this game increased tenfold just to see what stupid spoiler Ahoda put as his title. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Really enjoying it so far. Just got the 3 spider splicers pictures for Peaches. The story is enticing. Had some issues with crashing and also a glitch where the Spider Splicers don't respawn and make that part of the game impossible. But I am enjoying it enough to redo the little bit of progress I lost. (That, and I turned it on easy to help make catching up quicker.) | "So, uh, what are we saying here? Eff the Houdini Splicers. I honestly didn't think I would get this into the game. Its still pretty spooky but I am getting over it I guess. The lack of ammo is a challenging aspect of the game. I have incinerate and insects which I shuffle between. However it leaves me vulnerable while they get attacked and die.
Arcadia was cool. Bummed about Langford she seemed swell. Was cool to get all trees back up and running though it took me forever to figure out I had to go back to Arcadia to get the chlorophyll solution again. Like Wikey I totally failed barricading and that sucked but I managed to get through it.
I try to get as many as the tapes as possible but I get really confused on where I am due to it being dark and me being on edge. I feel like I get a solid 2/3 of them. Bummed I missed out on the moms last one, but I am glad I got to live it vicariously through Curt. I felt like I missed out on the conclusion of the Fontaine story as well. Who knows maybe it'll pop out again but I feel like they've gone off him. I look forward to after I beat it and can go back and look all that stuff up but now I am scared I am going to spoil something. |

I will agree its the most fleshed out level but I HATED IT. It was so dark and spooky and it kept scaring me. There were some areas where you couldn't see AT all.
It took me a really long time to figure out how to get in the elevator to get up to Cohen, but oh well.
The movement lights when you go into the second portion of the level was really helpful for dealing with those damn spider splicers. I was also not crazy about those marble figures that are actually alive and come and attack you, I didn't appreciate that.
It was fun exploring but I didn't notice that many audio tapes. Only one I remember was the pregnancy one.
The New Big Daddy's are no bueno. I like the ones that just shoot stuff and you, charging makes it that much harder. Upgraded my incinerate and insect though which was great.
I am bummed to read I could have saved Cohen. He was so great! I just started shooting him as soon as I saw him. Then I hypnotized Big Daddy to fight him for me but it didn't appear to work. He killed the Big Daddy and then turned to me and I took him down in a couple shots so surely the Big Daddy didn't do much.
Also I forgot to mention I didn't realize until midway through Arcadia that you could shoot the security cameras. Made my life a lot easier. They freaking blow. |

Just started this level. All the bodies was kind of creepy. Rip Mcdonough and Anaya (I think that's right). Cool going through the core and checking it out. Though F**K that room where the lights keep going out. And screw the Houdini Splicers. I wish you could store weapons or something because I never use the crossbow or the grenade launcher.
Hopefully will finish it up this weekend. Seems I only have a little bit left. |

Oh snap the big twist. I knew something was coming but I wasn't really expecting it. It was cool with the flashback of all the time's Atlas said "Would you kindly". Was Ryan expecting us to "become a man" because if so that backfired big time.
I enjoyed the apartments. Since I had killed Cohen apparently I didn't get that extra room. I was kind of disappointed at the lack of audio diaries. Especially that family of all the dead people in apartment. I would have liked the background on that. The second apartments were pretty small. Didn't take too long, kind of wish there was more too it.
Becoming a Big Daddy is an interesting twist though I am not sure I like where that is going. Seems like I am going down a slippery slope. I hate the mask and the limited vision. Pretty cool level. Got to learn more about the process of becoming a big daddy. I noticed I started making noise the noises and what not. I am curious how the rest of the story goes because I can't see how it will be a happy ending.
Get to hang out with a Little Sister for now. I am sure it'll be a pain. |

The section leading the little sister wasn't that bad. Just usually shot some insects and some fire and a few machine gun shots here are there. Would yell at them to hurry up because they were so dang slow.
Fontaine was pretty intense. Thankfully I had a good deal of money so I was able to stock up on some ammo. I lit him on fire and opened fire. I ignored his helpers as they usually got caught in the cross fires. Pretty intense though.
Ending was cool, I wonder if you harvest any of the little sisters if the ending changes at all.
Probably read up on some of the audio diaries I tried my best to find them all but I missed a lot and even the ones I found I sometimes missed the story lines.
I guess 2 is worth playing? I want to go on to the one you guys gush about but I guess I probably need to play the second one. |
