I got my first win last week in Duos.

I had 5 kills as a solo in Gold Squads earlier before I got snuck up on while I was trying to heal.

My first wins were back to back gold squads. No idea why I do better there than normal squads.

We were speculating that the mode lets you land ANYWHERE instead of one of the high traffic areas, and still get great loot. That seems to be the issue with the squad I play with. If we don't land in the big areas, we can get down to the Final 10 pretty easily by winning one or two battles. But we're so ill equipped at that point to go up against the big players. With this mode, we can get the good stuff, still land and only do one or two quick battles, and then have the resources and guns to compete at the end.

That's my take on it for my group tbh
