Oh hey, book thread. Cool!
As one of my new year resolutions, I decided to try to read more books. I got a. Barnes & Noble gift card from my brother, so I decided to get The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Paper Towns.
I just started Perks, and it's pretty good so far! I like the diary sort of format. I've been wanting to read it for a while, but never got a chance to, and it's not disappointed me so far. The main character seems pretty relatable and odd, which I like. I'm only on the first part, so I can't give my full thoughts about it yet. |
aw man you could have saved your GC money and borrowed my copies of both of these books. |

Oh men, there's a sequel? That's pretty cool, but then again I think I would have preferred if there was just the standalone book. I think the way the author left it at the end have readers a chance to imagine their own ending, so I don't know if I'll read the sequel quite yet. |
Yeah at first I was wary of the sequel because, like you said, it's a good standalone but the sequel will surprise you. |

Finished!
Paper Towns.
At first, I didn't know what this book was about. I was expecting another TFIOS if I'm being honest. The book was a little slow-paced at first, but then it started to pick up. I decided to read it soon after shooting for the movie had ended, so I'm looking forward to going to see it. It's one of those books that makes you think about things differently, and there's a lot of references to books and poems throughout the book. It was p. good. |
Now read Looking For Alaska |

I'm having trouble getting myself to read Goblet of Fire. Like, I want to read it, but I guess I'm at a boring part, so it's hard to motivate myself to continue. |
I had this same issue. The first three took me under a day each to read, that's if you factor in life etc. Then I got to Goblet and my progress slowed dramatically. |

I feel like I started Beloved months ago and I'm still not finished. I just don't have the time sit down and read.
