THE BRIEFCASE

A group of five work friends left a bar and took a shortcut down an alleyway. On their way down an alley they stumbled across a drunk, sleeping man who was clutching a briefcase that clearly belonged to him. The briefcase was spilled open, revealing $100,000 inside.

Lucas noticed the money first. While the other four were distracted to see if the man was okay, Lucas picked up the briefcase and planned on hiding it nearby so he could pick it up later and keep it all for himself.

The group caught Lucas and called him out, forcing Lucas to come clean. Noah suggested they take the money for themselves but the rest were weary. Noah went a step further and suggested they ice Lucas out for his earlier betrayal. The group agreed since it meant they'd each get a larger cut and a drunk and angry Lucas left them.

The group found some plastic bags in a nearby trash can and began to divvy the money up evenly. Not happy with the way Noah iced Lucas out, Abby secretly took Noah's share for herself and filled Noah's bag with something else to trick him. Dustin, who had a crush on Abby, saw her do this and planted evidence that would lead Noah to assume that innocent Megan was the one who stole his share, despite Noah being Dustin's best friend.

Meanwhile, an angry Lucas called the police from across the street and told them what his four friends were doing. The police showed up and caused the group to panic and flee in all directions (the friends were drunk, underage, and stealing a considerable amount of money). Abby, knowing that two cops were around the corner, told Dustin to run that way while she ran in the opposite direction. Her plan worked as Dustin was caught by the police and Abby managed to escape.

As Megan ran with the briefcase and her share, she saw the sleeping man jolt awake and gasp for air. Megan recognized that the man was having an asthma attack and she found his inhaler inside of the briefcase, but the police were already too close. Knowing that she would be arrested if she went back to provide the inhaler, Megan assumed the police would be able to deal with him and ran in the opposite direction. The man survived the ordeal.
