Didn't get suuuuper into this one. I didn't gel with the mother or Sara at all...which makes since seeing as I'm not a mother or a 15 year old only child with an overprotective mother

The mom just bugged the shit outta me. I actually SCOFFED out loud involuntarily at two different moments due to the mom. I think one of them was when Sara came home and the mom was sitting in the living room with a glass of wine and listened curiously as Sara just walked up the stairs and entered her room and closed the door. It's such a dumb moment for me to dislike but the mom just irked the hell outta me. I guess it reminded me of my mom when I was younger, not necessarily towards me but to all my siblings.....so perhaps I do gel with the situation after all (:

And I know that's the point of the episode and that I was supposed to be annoyed by her racing for the tablet and shit but....I was still annoyed! I think I didn't like the actress playing the mom tbh. I didn't like 15 year old Sara actress very much either actually

I did like the one male character, what a cliche I am. But I liked Owen Teague in Bloodline and he was a brief highlight of It so I enjoyed him here. The breakup scene was tough to watch, poor kid. Mom yelling at him while he was working bugged the shit outta me too

PARENTS JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND!

Most interesting part to me sorta got glossed over - the project stunting Sara's growth since you probably need to see some horrors of the world to develop correctly. That could've been a great road to go down so I was disappointed they jumped through that and went with the fairly predictable third act instead

Cool concept, just could've done more with it or gone in another direction somewhere. Well executed for what it was but I wish it ended up as something a little different

Oh but I forgot to mention the actual best part of the episode, the pills and the pregnancy twist

FUCK

Fuck the mom. I can't believe I forgot to mention that, my jaw actually dropped when the nurse said it. I'm a dummy and had no idea why she was at the pharmacy, what pills she was putting in the smoothie, why she was throwing up. Didn't have any clue until the moment the nurse said it and it really surprised me. That's so fucked by the mom. She didn't even know for sure she was pregnant, it was just in case. GOD DAMN! That's brutal. That elevated the episode for sure because I really wasn't digging it until then

I thought the episode might end with them still living together but the parental block would be permanently broken like it was for a bit there. So Sarah would only see her mom's blurred face and wouldn't be able to really hear here. MOM WATCHED SARA AND NOW SARA CAN'T EVEN SEE MOM!

But that'd be too over the top and probably a fixable glitch by the company so it wouldn't really land (: . But that felt like the Black Mirror-ish direction they might take it

Did anyone notice Sara's second drawing that the mom looks at in the child psychologist's office? Without spoiling, it looked like a certain scene from Shut Up and Dance. I'm almost certain it was

not sure but I could've sworn it was Men Against Fire on the screen where they were testing out the parental advisory for the first time

It sure was

I do think the concept works in the terms of parents tracking their kids.
I knew some dude that his parents literally tracked where he went with his phone, we went to sum party in high school far away and they hit him up and were like we know where you are come home now or we're getting you

My sisters and I watched Shawn lie to my mom and sneak out to a party on the Snapmap (:

WE’VE REACHED THE FUTURE!
