Each new Jurassic Park movie makes me re-evaluate how I felt about The Lost World. It is so much better compared to 3/4/5
This one was exactly as dumb as I figured it would be. It's Jurassic Park...in a house! Which is what fans of the franchise were clamoring for, surely
The characters were uninteresting. Chris Pratt didn't seem to care whatsoever about this and wasn't as charming as he was in the last one. The techy kid wasn't funny and him and the vet were overall useless. The only character stuff I like in the series anymore is seeing how the moronic bad guys are inevitably gonna die, and the only one of those that was all that fun was Ted Leving (the soldier guy) getting devoured in the cage. But man was he STUPID in that scene. I'd rather see the smarter dinosaurs outsmart the humans and kill them that way (like Muldoon in the first) than have the humans constantly die because they're so dumb
ANYWAYYY, there were some fun visuals and a FEW fun set pieces but not many at all. The brachiosaurus being left behind on the dock was easily the best moment and was actually p brutally sad. And I did like the beginning with the dudes going to collect the bone on the island. Some really nice visuals and a bit of suspense for like, a few seconds. The helicopter death was amusing
The questions raised about saving the species or letting them go extinct again are half-interesting but don't go anywhere. Jeff Goldblum was entirely wasted. I don't even know why they bothered? Just to get him for some trailer clips I think
And the granddaughter was a god damn clone. Human cloning. C'MON! Get that shit outta here, there is 0 need for it. I hated that
Still hate the whole Blue stuff and making us not afraid of the raptors anymore. They made the T-Rex the hero on numerous occasions, now same with the raptors. That's why they have to keep inventing different dangerous dinosaurs that all look exactly the same to me
curtis how did you feel about the first jurassic world
apparently this is how I felt!

When the raptor came outta no where and ran at the I-Rex in the slow mo hero shot. pls
It was fine for what it was. Entertaining and fun enough, the nods to the original were cool and I liked the music. And it had some nice tense scenes too
The kids were AWFUL! Way worse than the kids from the first who I actually ended up caring about at the end of that one. I was rooting for these two to die, especially the older one. Why did they give him a subplot where he stares at all the girls around the park. Really any ~touching scene between the brothers fell completely flat
The rest of the characters were so bland or typical. Hoskins was stereotypical in a good way, he felt like an instant classic Jurassic Park villain/idiot who you can't wait to see die. Unfortunately I went to the bathroom when he did and missed it completely
Chris Pratt/Jake Johnson/the owner were the only ones I was rooting for, everyone else was really unlikable. There was pretty much 0 development for anyone other than Claire
I can't help compare it to the first one really. I just had way more fun seeing the first in theaters when it was re-released in 3D two years ago than I did with this. Entirely different league but its all expected
To me this is kinda just like Godzilla/Avengers. Good blockbusters at the time that I'll never watch in full again
