GOOD! Definitely good. The concept is cool and the execution is even better
It's not exactly a fun family summer show! Everyone's fairly miserable in it. There's a couple of cool little reveals including one really well acted/sad one towards the end. The acting was mostly very good. So was the music, I was glad that the trailer song was worked into the show. Damon also slipped in Patsy Cline again (:
It looks like Damon is writing each episode. Damon joaks aside, I think most of us would agree that his episodes of Lost were generally among the best so I'm pretty excited about that
Focusing on everything globally would be way too much though. I like that it focuses on a select town. It's like The Walking Dead. Wouldn't really work any other way
My favorite part was when Lori went outside and blew the whistle in Matt's face. So good. Those moments work the best on this show I think. When Lori starts crying as Matt starts speaking, she runs outside and it says a lot about her character. But then she surprises us and does a 180 and blows the whistle, and that says even more about her
They keep packing episodes full of those moments. The characters are really complex and always surprising
We don't know much about Meg yet aside from the fact that she was supposed to get married but wasn't happy with her fiance or something. Everything about the show is a mystery, not only is it super interesting but it's great marketing to keep people tuned it.
I like that they didn't pack the finale with shit, instead they spent a lot of time with their big moments. The Kevin/Wayne scene was my favorite, especially the 'granted' line. The Jill scream, fire, Kevin reading the passage, Nora in the kitchen, Nora's letter. All were really great. And that MUSIC! So good
