If this is anything like The Walking Dead Telltale game, then this could be very very fun. Westeros is just as perfect for this type of game as the zombie apocalypse is because of how cutthroat it is. I imagine it'll be filled with tough decision making that compromises your morals and makes you feel like shit...should be fun! I hope they make it as emotional as TWD's
Besides TWD and GoT, another show that would make for a great Telltale game...LOST!
Telltale could do what Via Domus tried but failed at. A new, ongoing story where you move around the island's locations and build up your relationships with all the characters as you interact with them. Then of course it'll force you to make impossibly hard decisions. That'd be fun
I'd way rather get TWD season two and finish that first because I'm obviously far more invested, but this was just more convenient. I can't buy TWD for PC because my save files are on my xbox, so I gotta pick up the disc in stores someday very soon. I have the disc for season one anyway so I'd hate to not have the disc for season two, I'm anal about things like that
I got this for PC via steam. Playing on my laptop is gonna feel weird compared to TWD. Gonna play through the first episode as soon as it finishes downloading
That ending. GOD DAMN! They got me good, I didn't expect that at all. My jaw dropped as it happened. What a great set up for the future
My choices:
- Left Bowen behind. He was a dick and I wanted to try to prove myself to Lord Forrester
- Swore loyalty to the King. I'm guessing that was when I told Cersei what she wanted to hear
- Sent Erik to the wall. Since Gared's going there I figured Erik might show up later and thought it'd be cool. That choice was tough though. The crowd cheering different things made it way harder
- I picked Royland the dik as Sentinel. I like Duncan wayyy more and "trust him" way more, but this is the way I kinda wanted to play Ethan. I ended up pissing both sides off a lot during the small council meeting. I wanted Ethan to maybe start to lose his way and make shaky decisions, so I thought choosing Royland might lead to that more. Felt bad for Duncan tho
- Met Ramsay at the gate. I dunno if this changed anything really. Slightly disappointing for the 5th big decision of the game tbh, but maybe it did end up meaning a lot and things would've changed otherwise, I don't see how though
The fifth decision should've been letting Ramsay take my twin sister or not. That would've been INTENSE. Let him take her to satisfy Ramsay and end everything, or grab her away/volunteer yourself instead. Then either option could've led to your death, I would've been fine with that. Missed opportunity there I think
I ended up sacrificing myself and telling Ramsay to take me instead. After the not so great decisions I made as Ethan up to that point, it was really cool to do something heroic just before dying
NOT SPOILER THOTS:
Very good! GoT is the perfect world for a telltale game, it's like tailor made for it. I don't think your decisions had quite the immediate effects that they do in TWD. Instead they feel a bit grander. Like whatever you say/do is gonna echo out throughout all of Westeros. It's very similar to how the show builds up throughout a season and all decisions made have ripples later, especially character arcs like Ned's and Robb's and such. It might be boring in the moment at times but I'm hopeful that it'll all lead somewhere down the road. I prefer TWD's immediacy with your decisions but we'll see. There's so much potential with what you can impact and tough spots you can be put in

This was best with Ethan and Mira since both were involved with diplomacy of sorts. My favorite part was standing in the King's Landing throne room as Mira, talking to Cersei and Tyrion. Being placed in the shoes of some poor soul who has to stand in front of Cersei was really cool. Talking back/standing up to her felt great, having to kiss her ass and swear loyalty to her and the Joff felt terrible
Biggest disappointment was some technical stuff. Glitchy animations and weird controls. I died a lot at the start. I probably died more in the opening than I have in all of TWD combined, I never die in TWD. I might just chalk it up to not being used to playing on my laptop though, it felt very different. My mouse works fine but in the game it was super slow and lagged behind me, and some of the quick actions just weren't intuitive to me at all. But besides that it was all very good
You'll hardly enjoy this unless you watch the show first. You gotta watch the first three seasons. I wouldn't play unless you watch it, I think you'd ruin both the show and the game for yourself
Pretty good! The new locations are cool. Rodrik still being alive was obvious based on the PREVIOUSLY ON so that was a bummer, but I'm glad he was. Cool character
- Didn't forge the letter
- Kissed the ring
- Lost the marriage to Eleana :(((
- Stood up for Cotter
- Killed the assassin
These choices didn't feel huge at all tbh. I hope they end up having bigger effects down the road. WE SHALL SEE
