Defeated from their search of passage ways, the group rejoined in front of the fireplace.

"Anyone find anything?" Korr asked.

Everyone shook their heads disappointed. Kiwi, Natalie, Bryce, and Rob were off to the side rubbing their eyes. They had snapped out of their possession by now, but it had cost them. They looked around confused, having almost no memory of how they entered the library.

"we must go" said Zerch.

"YAW..where we gunna go?!" Vernon asked.

Out of the corner of his eye, Bryce saw movement.

"What was that..."

Everyone turned to face the way he was looking. "It's nothing but a painting Bryce." Matt said. "Your eyes are playing tricks on you because of the possession, trust me."

Bryce rubbed his eyes and looked back up towards the painting. He took a few steps towards it and focused in closer. The dark eyes of the painting quickly shifted and looked directly at Bryce.

"AHH!" Bryce screamed as he fell onto the floor. "There's...there's something behind there!!" he claimed.

Natalie helped Bryce up as KC inspected the painting. He poked the canvas with his finger and felt nothing behind it.

"There's something here. Good." he said.

"These ones too..." replied Bryce as he lifted back the two paintings to the side. Everyone helped out by lifting the three large paintings off of the wall and laying them on the ground. Behind each one was a dimly lit staircase that spiraled downwards.

Then ten stared down the damp staircases. Finally, someone broke the silence.

"I think it's time to split up again."

Elimination Quest




- Each of you must split into three teams of three.

- To choose a teammate, post "##Choose [Name]"

- Once someone chooses you back, you're in a group. Once a group has three people in it, the group is locked.

- You don't have to ##Unchoose. You may choose as many people at once as you wish. Whoever reciprocates will join you.

- You have 12 hours to choose. If trios aren't chosen by then, the rest will be randomized.

- One player will be left out. Will they be eliminated this time? ...we shall see!

Only Bryce and Matt remaining

The remaining ten stared down the three hidden passageways. A strange dripping sound echoed from deep below.

Kiwi silently gazed down the spiraling steps. "Maybe this'll lead us back to the foyer?"

"Or maybe we'll find Curtis." KC added.

"we split up" Zersch said as he planted his feet next to Natalie. Korr looked at the two with jealous eyes, before Natalie accepted him over.

"Who's tryna start up a trio with Frankenvern SON?!" Vernon said. Kiwi slid over and stood next to him. Rob followed.

"DREAM TEAM!!" shouted Vernon.

Shadow gave a head nod towards KC, and KC followed up by moving towards him. The only two left by the fireplace were Bryce and Matt. The two stood quietly and looked at Shadow and KC.

"I don't /do/ teams." Matt said.

"ok" Shadow replied as he called Bryce over.

"..." Bryce began. "I'll take it!! =D " he said as he merrily skipped across the room and joined his trio.

Matt stood alone awkwardly, not quite sure what to do with himself.

"u stay here" said either Zersch or Shadow. "guard room"

Matt gulped as he took a step away from everyone. As he stepped backwards, a floorboard beneath him creaked in a peculiar way. Matt leaned down and noticed that the floorboard was loose. He furrowed his eyebrows as he attempted to pry it upwards. The board gave way, revealing a small space underneath. Matt looked down and could see something at the bottom. Curious, he streched his arm down into the dark space and reached around for whatever it was. His arm was submerged up to his shoulder. Suddenly...

...he pulled the object up. It was a burlap sack.

"WAIT!" Matt yelled to the group. Each trio was just heading down into their respective stairwells, when they turned back at Matt's yell.

Matt dumped the burlap sack onto the floor. Fifty candies spilled out across the floorboards by Matt's feet.

"How much would it take to change your minds?" he said with a smile.

Rules

- Matt is marked for elimination.

- There are 50 candies up for offer. If any two players from a trio decide to take Matt in and kick out their third person, each of the two will receive 25 candies. That would put anyone at the top of the leaderboard.

- If two people decide to do this, they must post "##Kick out [Name]" in this thread. Once any pair of players from a trio does this, they will kick their person out, receive 25 candies each, and bring Matt in. If you're worried that your two partners are gonna kick you out, you may want to consider getting to one of them before the other does.

- If no one decides to kick anyone out by 4 PM tomorrow, Matt will be eliminated from the game.

"How much would it take to change your minds?" Matt said with a smile as he dumped out the fifty candies. Matt doubted that this would work. He didn't expect that any three who trusted each other would turn on each other over twenty five measly pieces of candy.

He was wrong.

It took mere minute for Frakenvern and Kiwi to give Rob the boot.

"Kiwi, if you're in. Join me. If not, then sorry I did this Rob. I'm a greedy Frankenvern, what can I say."

Kiwi contemplated for a moment. "For the fun of it." he said as he nodded.

"Frick..." Rob said as he left the group.

What was left of the self proclaimed 'dream team' was now on their hands and knees on the floor stuffing twenty-five cent candies into their sacks. Vernon and Kiwi's eyes lit up as they split their candy up evenly. They called Matt over, thanked Rob, and descended down the passageway with smiles on their faces.

The other two groups also departed, leaving Rob behind in the large library alone to wait for Curtis. He sat up on a table and stared into the fire. His eyes grew tired as they got lost in the flames.

Rob awoke hours later. He had fallen asleep laying across the long table. He leaned upward and rubbed his tired eyes. When his vision came to focus, something was standing between him and the fireplace.

A little girl.

"Uhm...hello?"

The girl giggled and skipped away across the library floor. She climbed up the sliding ladder leaning against the bookshelf and crawled up to the second floor.

"Hey wait!" Rob yelled. He moved towards the ladder and began to climb up. He could hear the girl giggling from up above.

"I'm looking for my friend...or a way out." he began. "Could you help me?"

As Rob got to the top of the ladder, he was able to see up onto the second floor. The little girl sat cross legged with her back to Rob. He stood at the top of the ladder and reached outwards towards her.

That's when the girls head began to spin. Her neck cracked with each inhuman twist. Soon, it had spun around 180 degrees and was facing Rob. Her once smooth black hair was now greasy and tangled. It hung down in front of her face, concealing it. She parted her hair and revealed her face to him.

Her eyes were gone. Maggots crawled in and out of the empty, wrinkled sockets. Her nose was disfigured and her lips were cracked. A thick black substance dripped from the corners of her mouth, eyes, and ears. She lunged at Rob and let out a wretched scream.

Rob recoiled in horror and fell backwards off of the ladder. He landed hard on the wooden floor with a thud, his back cracking from the blow. Rob coughed up blood and slowly opened his eyes. The girl was now on the floor with him.

He writhed in pain and crawled away from her on his elbows, but he didn't get very far. The girl smiled at his attempt before suddenly appearing just in front of him, blocking his path.

She knelt down before him and grabbed the sides of his head. Rob was powerless to stop it.

Her maggot filled eye sockets continued to ooze out the black substance. Then, they changed. Something formed within them. Something so horrifying, that Rob was unable to take his eyes off of them.

He screamed a bloodcurdling scream, and he didn't stop. His eyes were fixated on whatever he was seeing as his throat continued to burn from the screaming.

Rob's face began to wrinkle. His hair fell out of his skull in tufts. His eyelids sagged and his shoulders began to hunch.

He was aging. Rapidly.

His skin continued to wrinkle all over and his bones turned frail. His elbows which were propping hip up snapped and failed him. Some of his molars dropped from his mouth and the rest fell down his throat. His scream faded to a coarse scraping sound as the life of him was sucked out completely.

His skull dropped to the ground with a heavy thud. His shriveled up corpse looked like it had been deceased for dozens of years.

The little girl skipped away merrily.
