Nine slashers have descended upon the quiet town of Red Falls to wreak as much havoc as they can. Their goal - rack up the highest body count possible by visiting different locations around town and picking off the hapless citizens one by one. The slasher with the most kills under their belt will reach legendary status - their lore told around campfires for decades to come.

SUNDOWN

Every night, at sundown, the nine of you will head to the same location. Six potential victims will be up for grabs for the nine of you to slaughter. You have two "moves", Hack and Slash!

Hackis the weaker of the two moves. This is a 1d4.

Slash is the stronger of the two. This is a 1d6.

At the start of each round, you'll PM me which of the six victims you want to Hack and which one you want to Slash. You cannot Hack and Slash the same victim. You must tell me both a Hack and a Slash. You have 24 hours each round to PM this to me and you cannot change your decision once you've sent it. If you fail to send it within 24 hours, you have no chance to claim a victim that round.

MIDNIGHT

During the midnight phase, I'll reveal publicly who each of you are attempting to Hack and who you are attempting to Slash. You now have 24 hours to PM me and change ONE of your decisions to a different victim, either your Hack or your Slash. You cannot change both of your decisions. You CAN choose to keep them both the same.

During this phase, right after you've told me who you're changing one of your targets to, you'll immediately PM me two dice rolls. You'll role 1d4 for your Hack, and 1d6 for your Slash.

This is where some bluffing and predicting comes into play. You may choose to divert your target towards a victim that no one is attacking, or fewer people are attacking, or your enemy in the game is attacking, or the person in the lead is attacking, etc. It's all about reading what you think your fellow slashers may do and try to avoid them or thwart them.

DAWN

At dawn, the sun will rise and the night's body count will be revealed. I'll reveal who everyone ACTUALLY targeted and what they rolled in their Hack and their Slash. Resolving Hacks and Slashes is simple. If only one of you targeted a victim, you'll kill them. If two or more players targeted a victim, whoever rolled the highest will kill them. If multiple players targeted a victim, the highest UNIQUE role will claim the kill. That means if player A and player B role a 6, and player C rolls a measly 1, player C swoops in and steals the kill. If two or all players tied in a role, that victim will escape unscathed.

After the kills are resolved, we'll move into the next Sundown phase and start again with a fresh batch of six victims.

PERKS

Each phase, one victim will have a perk assigned to them. It will be announced who that citizen is and what the perk does. Whoever kills that victim claims the perk and can use it to their advantage in the game. Not all perks are created equal, some will be more powerful than others.

BLOODLINES

The final rule involves bloodlines. There are 60 victims up for grabs throughout the game. Twenty sets of three are related to one another and share a last name. If any of you manages to kill all three members of the same family, you will achieve a bonus FOURTH kill for free as a prize for ending that family's bloodline. Yay! Pay attention to who you've killed thus far and who you should consider targeting if you're close to ending a bloodline. And perhaps more importantly, pay attention to who your fellow slashers have slain to try to prevent them from getting that bonus victim. This adds a new layer to predicting who players may target and might give you more to think about when choosing which victim to use a weaker Hack against vs a stronger Slash against.

Keep in mind that while 60 victims may sound like a lot, there are nine of you. That's an average of about six kills per player (not counting bonuses), so every kill counts!

The only miscellaneous rules are that anything goes in the game threads. While you cannot privately message each other or talk to each other anywhere outside of the game threads, you're free to publicly make promises to each other, publicly declare who you're switching your target to, and bluff your way through the game however you wish. You're all soulless slashers - play it up! There can only be one winner!

Happy slashing!
