Oh that Billie song in the intro was a garbage choice tho. How uninspired. I was just making fun of the Madame Web and Night Swim trailers for both featuring that song at the same time which they must’ve been mad about. And now TD comes in a month later using it (:
The visuals were bad too, idk why they’d change it up from 1-3 which feel like a staple. They tried to do the ~glitchy kinda thing like American Horror Story, I didn’t like it at all
Granted I was v tired when I started it, but I dozed off a loooot during this ep. I saw the few horror bits and thought they were fine. I wish a snowy mystery/horror was intriguing me more though. I guess I also don't really like any single character? Acting is fine though
I think the premiere was intriguing enough and then it went nowhere fast. I was so uninterested in everything that happened along the way. Writing was very noticeably bad throughout and the finale was very underwhelming. I thought the ghost stuff felt super tacked on and cliche, we even got the classic flashback snippet of someone and their now dead loved one whispering under a sheet together. It really felt like AI spit this thing out
It really irrationally bugged me when the two of them kept using each other's names when they were running around the cave and research station with each other. "Hey, Navarro." like...just say hey, you're the only two people here and you're right next to each other. They did that so much
Why did Navarro secretly get Clarke's confessional recorded and then leave it for Danvers later on lol. Why did she let Danvers yell at her about how she let him die in the show when he was their only witness and only piece of evidence and now they have nothing. What tf did I miss there, why didn't she say chill I recorded the whole thing. So dumb
Also really hated Peter's wife kicking him out and being so pissed at him for like...working some overtime? As a cop? During this huge murder investigation? Literally the only thing that's happened in that good ole' small town
It was just so uneventful, the resolution wasn't satisfying and the road to get there wasn't filled with anything memorable or fun or unique. Bland characters, fine acting but nothing great except for a few brief Foster moments
Cultural battleground is right Zersch lol, it's wild
