Very good, a super satisfying ending to the trilogy (most consistent CBM trilogy). Secret ingredient to the series isn’t just that Gunn was allowed to do whatever he wanted, but he also clearly cares about his characters (imagine that!). Very few Marvel movies outside of GotG convince me to care about anything I’m watching
- Hallway fight scene ruled. Fun swan song for the whole team.
- High Evolutionary was so good. Maybe the best non-Thanos/Loki MCU villain. So detestable, perfectly played. Surprisingly gory at the end! Him>Ego>Ronan.
- Rocket was perfect ofc. Mantis also stole the show. Drax and Rocket remain my MCU favorites.
- Everyone had multiple stand out moments, but Gamora was sadly short changed (thanks to the Infinity War wipe). I wish more was done with Groot too, I miss Baby Groot (the best Groot).
- Thought Adam Warlock was fine but pretty unnecessary overall. Would’ve rather spent that time with the team.
- Great soundtrack obviously.
- Pleasantly surprised none of them died. I was ready for Gunn to rek us. Thought for suuuure Drax was done for.
Putting it third in the trilogy for now and third overall in my MCU ranking. I could see it passing the first one for me, I think Gunn’s direction got better and the characterization is a lot stronger for mostly everyone at this point, much better villain too. Also isn’t bogged down by having to set up Thanos and the stones. First one benefits from more classic bits but this might be the better movie, time will tell!
Very glad I rewatched the first two beforehand, it helped make this one hit different. Love these movies/characters, sad they’re over but I also don’t really wanna see the characters appear in the future under someone other than Gunn. Rooting for him to continue fixing DC for sure.
think this officially entered itself onto the shortlist of trilogies that are actually good the whole way through. I'd probably rank this as the weakest of the three (2 > 1 > 3), but I'm sure I'll rewatch it in the near future and maybe it'll grow on me
song choices were on point, especially the last one

I was pretty sad that Peter/Gamora never ended up being a thing, I felt like their chemistry was so good, especially in Vol. 2. I was rooting for them! Avengers movies just had to fuck it all up smh. I do think that was handled pretty well considering tho
Honestly I'm shocked none of the main chars died, I kept hearing the reactions where people were saying this was TOO dark and gloomy, plus the first two had the Groot and Yondu sacrifices so I expected there to be something similar here. For a sec I actually bought that they were killing off Peter...and then I thought they'd actually leave him disfigured...and then nope! Apparently he's coming BACK now even?? Ugh, I do not want to see these characters without Gunn tbh
I guess the dark aspect was really just referring to the Rocket flashbacks which I can see, but was kinda what I was expecting anyway since they clearly hinted at that kind of tragic backstory for him. High Evolutionary was kind of a whatever villain tbh but he was kinda just there to get the plot rolling
Pretty perfect ending tbh, I don't think I have any complaints with that. Just the right amount of bitter and sweet. I was glad to Drax get his just due emotionally rather than JUST being the comic relief
Warlock was probably the only miss character-wise in this, he...didn't need to be in this at all. I forgot he was in the movie half the time
Hallway fight scene was amazing, it was kind of wedged in inorganically but it didn't even matter, was so creative and gave every character something to do that was specific to them. A million times better than the typical MCU action scene which feels like an AI came up with it

O wow surprised you didn’t think much of High Evolutionary, I thought he was great
Agreed on everything else. I cannot believe they all survived
