I’m always team Taika but woof, this script was brutal. I didn’t so much as snicker at one single joke. Not ONE! And boy were there plenty. This felt like they just shot their rough draft without revisiting it at all. Just a messy pile of scenes and jokes they wanted to be sure to include
Bale was good but horribly wasted. Crowe barely did anything either. Portman and Thompson seemed to very clearly not care or wanna be there to me? It was so weird. Hemsworth plays this newer version of the character really well but didn’t have the material for this one at all. Even KORG was bad! He’s up there with Drax as the funniest MCU character for me but nothing worked in this one
Big yikes all around. Thankfully I’ll never remember a single moment from this movie starting tomorrow
I also watched it in theaters and it was a packed good crowd of TRUE TAIKA FANS
Must’ve been the only 30 people who liked it! Crystal clear why everyone has been shitting on this now. It’s got one of the lowest MCU averages for good reason. I was ready to like it too!
