To be fair they had an actor leave the show so they had to rewrite on the go, but still the writing was really REALLY bad in parts completely unnecessarily. And it was written by the showrunner (like ep 1 which was also bad imo), which makes me have very little confidence it will get better in season 2.

I read they were filming in Prague right as Covid hit as well, so seems like they had to do some rewriting for some of the later stuff.

Maybe they can reboot it without a fucking Survivor contestant making it?

Amazon has been pumping a lot of money into this so I don't think we'll get a reboot anytime soon lol.

The only big thing from the last episode that I didn't quite enjoy as much was the main character didn't get to do much except being tempted by the Dark One and then pulverize him with a powerful blast. I also didn't expect Nynaeve and Egwene to wipe out all those Fades and Trollocs, but I read that they wanted to split the cast up so everyone had things to do. I think Amalisa was equipped with some kind of really powerful sa'angreal armor, so I might do a rewatch of this show before S2 at some point. I was also very annoyed from the point on when I thought they killed off Nynaeve, but was relieved it was a fake out. The show's probably gonna do a bunch of that.

The fake out was easily the worst part, with Egw being able to resurrect anyone all tension is completely gone from the series. And fake-outs are so cheap and annoying to begin with.

I think a lot of valid criticism for the show has gotten lost in the "typical book readers, they were never going to be happy!!!" argument, and the show runner seems to have gone into defensive mode or even denial over it. I saw that he's been acknowledging people's issues with the story, but then is saying he's going to continue doing it his own way. Definitely wouldn't expect this to improve much in season 2 if you already have issues with season 1 (unless Amazon steps in and micromanages). I don't really understand why Amazon would hand such a massive property/swing/investment off to some random from the Agents of SHIELD show. Feels like they thought just pumping crazy amounts of money into it would automatically make it high quality lol
