Blue rare is good so long as the inside is not cold.

Also, your steak should be noticeably different than beef jerky in "doneness" or you are doing it wrong.

Medium rare, but I prefer it just under that.

My wife grew up eating steaks well done and putting ketchup on it. It took some work, but now she eats it medium rare with me, though she still doesn't enjoy steak like I do. I blame that on her dad.

Is her dad Donald Trump? That's what he does and it should have banned him from voting, let alone running for office.

The only way I could eat my Dad's steaks growing up was with a mound of Heinz-57 sauce. Once I was old enough to know better, I realized that you should never need a steak sauce, and asking for one, either means your an idiot and messed up your steak order, or you just want to insult the chef by telling him his steaks suck. Don't order steak sauce.

My Mom had a chef come out and bitch at her for ordering ketchup for her steak one time.

I'll generally order medium rare. I don't put any sauce on a steak.

I will use various rubs from time to time if I'm cooking it myself.

I prefer A1 and especially the A1 with hot sauce. Actually, Franks makes everything taste better
