In what game ever does the survivor win alone? It is literally always a joint win

FTR I don't care about getting the technical "win", I'm more so just curious about this specific situation in terms of mafia rules and all that

On the one hand, the only thing that we could argue is wrong is that I left out the word "alone" in his win condition.

On the other hand, he's third party, aligned to himself, and third party never wins with Town.

You guys let Third Party joint win with other factions around here?

Whoever meets their win condition wins the game. So if a third party and the town do that, they share the win. YOU let that happen

Why wouldn't it just say I win when I'm the last man standing? The Town win condition part threw me off and caused me to side with the Town all game (:

(even though EM is generally shit, I'll throw their version in there also)

-Survivor must be alive
-Another faction must have met their win condition
-Survivor is self-aligned
-Survivor takes the win

Generally speaking, Survivor takes the win no matter what faction meets their wincon first, whether it's Town, Mafia, or Cult. In this game, I made it so that only the Town's wincon would've granted Curtis a win.

But to the original point, personally, I have never, not one time, seen or hosted a game where a third party member could jointly win with another faction. That defeats the entire point of being aligned to yourself.

Instead of : You’re not really a bad guy, just misunderstood. Thus, you win when you have lit all seven candles AND the Town has met its win condition.
I guess it should have read: You’re not really a bad guy, just misunderstood. You alone will win when you have lit all seven candles AND if you are alive when the Town has met its win condition.

When I hosted the first ATTWS1 I had a pair of Survivor Lovers. Mafia got wiped out and it was like 12 town at the end + the Survivor Lovers, one of which was entirely inactive. They won if they were alive at the end with all town and would've fucked Town over and taken the win. I hated it so much that I just gave Town/them a shared win (things were a bit different back then and you could bend stuff (: )

It was pretty universally hated that a Survivor could just steal the win when Town crushed it. So in this game if I was totally 100% inactive and never posted at all and then the Town destroyed the mafia and made it to the end with a bunch of townies left...the game would've ended and inactive Curtis would've won

But ya Helios you've 100% been in games where third party Survivor joint wins with Town (or another faction) cause that's the way we've done it over here basically since ATTWS1

I will say that a Survivor should...survive. So even tho thats not what my win condition says I think I should've technically lost for dying

But I for sure think self-aligned Survivors shouldn't steal a win from a group at the end, that would be so negatively received. I think the fun of a self-aligned Survivor is having the ability to win with any faction and be able to sorta choose which one they wanna help out, that's part of what made this game so fun for me anyway. It almost makes them like a MERCENARY whose alignment is grey and can go in any direction
