There are people with epilepsy and such who specifically have bracelets saying "Don't call an ambulance" because if someone freaks out and calls an ambulance for them, they'll be unable to pay for it.

Haven't been there in a long time, but it was very nice when I went there the last time.

Probably more crowded and more expensive now.

Do you realize how much equipment an ambulance needs to have to potentially deal with just about any medical emergency? That shit is expensive.

If it wasn't life threatening, then call an uber, or jump on the city metro bus.

No shit it's expensive, but most of that shit is a 1 time cost, sure there are some things that need to be replenished but most of that shit likely doesn't need to be changed until many years. It's one thing if a person needs urgent medical care while instead of the ambulance. But literally driving from Point A to Point B and charging up to 2k is ridiculous and not remotely fair. I agree it's a business and needs to make a profit, but a large part of this markup is because insurance takes a huge part of that off. Also there are a shit ton of areas where uber isn't available and where there is no metro. So poor people get fucked.

ur an idiot. shit gets marked up ridiculously at hospitals, the amount you pay, even post insurance on something as simple as an IV or an aspirin is astronomical. obviously there is a problem.
