I’m pretty sure the cables weren’t structural, just aesthetic and to minimize against pedestrian vibrations.

I read last night that the engineers had left a message with the crew stating that the bridge had some crackinf, not enough to.be an immediate issue, but enough to need fixed. Apparently the message was left and not found until the morning after the collapse.. DOT has frozen their funds. 13 mill hanging out there which probably won't even pay the lawyers for the lawsuits they're going to have. | | |
