They offer free wifi, charge ports, and I believe you can call from them if you plug in headphones. Mostly for tourists and such in case they're lost and they offer maps on the screens. But when they're not in use, they cycle through advertisements, the daily weather, tips for the city, and fun facts.

That's a very NYC picture. One of the charge stations, a starbucks, a stray child, someone filming, and a dirty pole.
