Watched Network today for the first time. I need to find appropriate situations to say "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." Hopefully there would be an open window nearby (:
I watched Frozen again to figure out where the pacing kept bothering me and also to count how many days the main plot took. I stopped 40 or so minutes in to watch the repeat showing of tonight's episodes of The Legend of Korra and I was texting Drrr the whole time and found that Frozen basically happened over about four days (minus the exposition in the beginning).
There were some parts of season 2 that I liked, but there are still things that makes me all "Ugh..." Book 3's much better and Nick's done an awful job at promoting it.
Really forgettable tbh. I'm not really sure why it was rated so high. Just seemed like another Marvel movie to me. I still think Iron Man 1 and 3 are easily the best movies in that universe, probably just because RDJ is in another league to the other lead actors
I will say that Nick Fury's street shootout was amazing though. Easily my favorite part. I especially loved the shot where you see the winter soldier's silhouette for the first time, made him seem a lot more badass and OMINOUS than he actually ended up being
The most frustrating thing though is how there was never any sense of danger, which is a problem I have with the Marvel movies in general really. It's always so obvious that all the heroes are gonna survive (and if they did kill someone off they'd save it for an Avengers movie, not a "side" movie) so it becomes kinda bland and monotonous to see these huge fights where you already know how it's gonna end. Even

when Nick Fury "died" I never thought he'd actually stay that way. If he did it would've been pretty cool tbh, to then have Captain America step up as the true LEADER of the avengers.
And I know Phil Coulson died in Avengers but he doesn't count because no one gives a shit about him. And they resurrected him for the TV series anyway (:
Speaking of OVERRATED Frances Ha was my most recently watched movie. It was p good, but the characters explored are so vapid and uninteresting (the fact that they are all impossibly wealthy makes this worse) that I couldn't really CONNECT. I think people were just too charmed by Greta Gerwig to see how slight the movie was
The Master - Though it was sort of DIFFICULT, it was a good kind of difficult. I felt STIMULATED by it, even though I'm still struggling to think about the potential meaning. Phoenix, Hoffman, and Adams were all fantastic (especially the first two, who capture their characters' emptiness and animalistic rage so well), and the sun-drenched look was gorgeous. I feel like I need to watch it again, that the story as is is too simple for such an oblique method of telling it.
then again that's how i felt about upstream color and i pretty much had that solved after first watching
Prettyyyyy great. Maybe slightly overhyped for me, but still good. I had to watch it across two different days which probably killed some of the suspense for me so that was a bit of a shame
But I really love thrillers, and the suspense scenes in the last half were really well done. TONS of good character actors in this movie too, even in the smallest roles. Afflect definitely did a really good job directing (and acting)
Still like Gone Baby Gone more. GBG > Argo > The Town
I watched The Life Aquatic the other day. Ugh I loved it. I can definitely see why people would consider it one of Anderson's weaker ones but I thought it was really enjoyable. Bill Murray's delivery was so hysterical, he's the best
"Nobody else got hit? I'm the only one, what's the deal?"
And the ending was the best. With the Sigur Ros song. I loved it
Just finished it. Watched it alone in my basement. Creeped me the FUCK out!
It's a fake documentary on something that didn't happen but it's very believable. The people being interviewed are all actors but the family feels real
Anyone else who saw The Imposter might enjoy it, it's very similar only more supernatural. I liked The Imposter more but this is worth watching. It's very, very eerie and there's one scene in particular that made me jump more than anything I've seen in a recent horror movie. It's filled with a good amount of unexpected twists that keep changing the story
