I think any contact to the head should be a penalty no matter what. The league will die off if they don't start changing the rules. Nobody will be playing in 20 years because of all the head trauma if they don't |
piss poor coachign starting when they are in pee wee leagues doesn't help. players getting bigger and faster is only making head trauma worse and there isn't anything you can do about it. Too much money involved for sport to die out, but better athletes will start playing other sports so the quality will continue to decline. |
You can enact rules where you get thrown out or suspended for the year for hits to the head, and actually enforce them. Burfict got fucked because he's notorious for this, but it needs to be clear across the board that it's not ok.

I dont agree as head to head hits happen by accident a ton more then purpose. It also only fucks the defense when most of the hits happen when the offensive player drops his head protecting himself.
Burfict got fucked for being a dirty pos player. |

yeah Burfict in addition to being a repeater offender (multiple suspensions plus other hits that got fines) was only part of it. he launched himself on this hit, which is a major no no in and of itself.

If you aim lower then the accident doesn't happen. We've gotten used to it as NFL fans, but it'd be easy to change. Hits to the head are an automatic ejection in rugby and nobody complains because it's the standard. Would be easy to implement for the football too.

How do you mean. Make it illegal to touch the head and the 'mistakes' will magically go away, mark my words.

This is why I laugh when I hear people say Brady is the greatest QB ever.
Don’t allow guys like Marino, Montana and Fouts, to get hit and it’s Tom who?
These QBs today are literally playing touch football.

Thiesman might still be playing under today's rules.

If Brady played back in Havo and Primate’s floppy paper helmet days he would be a beast and would be their all time favorite player to this day and I think we all know it

Based on what they've done with the coaching staffs and rosters they had around them...
Montana > Brady
But he might be the only one. All the titles puts Brady at a solid #2 of QBs during my lifetime, ahead of Manning, Elway, etc.

I disagree. He's top 5, but not ahead of Elway, Marino, or Manning. He played his whole career under the best coach in the best situation in nfl history.

It actually goes beyond the coach. The whole organization is light years ahead of the pack.

Titles isn't the be all end all for best qb for me. I think the patriots could replace Brady with a few current qb's and still win. Some of the other guys on the list were so much more valuable to their teams. All the Marino records were set on teams with one decent receiver and a half assed oline. I don't think Brady would be setting records in that situation.
